Abstract The adoption in 2018 of the Escazú Agreement by the countries of the Latin American and Caribbean region marks the second regional legal instrument aimed at the implementation of Principle 10 of the 1992 Rio Declaration, joining the Aarhus Convention of the pan-European region. 'It's like a Sentence before the Sentence' - Exploring the Pains and Possibilities of Waiting for Imprisonment

This article explores the implications of the ‘imprisonment queue’ in Norway. Based on interview data (N = 200), we show that while interviewees waiting to serve their sentences enjoy certain benefits such as being able to prepare for or negotiate the terms of their imprisonment, they also suffer from uncertainty and powerlessness. The suspension of their lives while they wait hinders them in pursuing their ground projects, things that really matter to them. This peculiar phenomenon has not received attention from prison scholars generally, as well as scholars writing on Nordic Exceptionalism specifically. RESUMEN: El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar los factores psicosociales en el trabajo del personal de justicia de la Comunidad Valencia (España) para identificar la prevalencia de riesgos psicosociales. Participaron 402 trabajadores (28.11 % hombres) incluyendo gestores, tramitadores y auxiliares sociales. Se evaluó con la Batería UNIPSICO (incluye factores de demanda, factores de recursos y consecuencias de los riesgos psicosociales). Generalized wave propagation problems and discrete exterior calculus

We introduce a general class of second-order boundary value problems unifying application areas such as acoustics, electromagnetism, elastodynamics, quantum mechanics, and so on, into a single framework. This also enables us to solve wave propagation problems very efficiently with a single software system. The solution method precisely follows the conservation laws in finite-dimensional systems, whereas the constitutive relations are imposed approximately. Uno de los efectos de la declaración del estado de alarma por el COVID-19 fue la suspensión de las actividades judiciales. La reanudación de estas actividades implicaba una serie de nuevos retos (acumulación de trabajo; incremento de la litigiosidad; adopción de medidas de seguridad y salud). El RDL 16/2020, de 28 de abril, afrontó algunos de estos retos e introdujo modificaciones tanto en el desarrollo de la actividad judicial, como en la organización de sus recursos. Este trabajo trata de sistematizar tales medidas desde una perspectiva crítica.
Acoustic wave guides as infinite-dimensional dynamical systems

We prove the unique solvability, passivity/conservativity and some regularity results of two mathematical models for acoustic wave propagation in curved, variable diameter tubular structures of finite length. The first of the models is the generalised Webster's model that includes dissipation and curvature of the 1D waveguide. The second model is the scattering passive, boundary controlled wave equation on 3D waveguides. The two models are treated in an unified fashion so that the results on the wave equation reduce to the corresponding results of approximating Webster's model at the limit of vanishing waveguide intersection.
