Protruding impact peak is one of the features of vertical ground reaction force (GRF) that is related to injury risk while running. The present research is dedicated to predicting GRF impact peak appearance by setting a binary classification problem. Kinematic data, namely a number of raw signals in the sagittal plane, collected by the Vicon motion capture system (Oxford Metrics Group, UK) were employed as predictors. Evaluating objective measures of impairment to trunk strength and control for cross-country sit skiing

AbstractIn Paralympic cross-country sit skiing, athlete classification is performed by an expert panel, so it may be affected by subjectivity. An evidence-based classification is required, in which objective measures of impairment must be identified. The purposes of this study were: (i) to evaluate the reliability of 5 trunk strength measures and 18 trunk control measures developed for the purposes of classification; (ii) to rank the objective measures, according to the largest effects on performance. Objective: The construct validity of the modified six-minute walk test (m6MWT) was examined by addressing the following questions: 1) do participants attain a steady state plateau in heart rate (HR) within the range of 110-150 beats per minute? 2) at what percentage of their predicted HR maximum were participants during each minute of the test? Material and Methods: Participants were 36 (male=56%) Special Olympics athletes aged 34.4 years (SD = 12.7). Following familiarization, participants completed the m6MWT while wearing a Polar Team 2 heart rate monitor. Šis maģistra darbs pēta vampīru Annas Raisas romānā un tā ekranizācijā, izmantojot tādus ar vampīrismu saistītus galvenos aspektus un elementus kā asinis, seksualitāte un eroticisms, nāve, identitāte un citādais, lai noteiktu, kādas vampīram raksturīgās iezīmes Raisa ir izmantojusi un kādas ir ieviesusi, tādējādi mainot priekšstatu par vampīru literatūrā un filmās.
