En fenomenologisk inngang til profesjonsetikken : Tillit i praksis - forutsetning eller fortjeneste?
2012
Accepted version of an article from the journal: Nordisk sygeplejeforskning Tema for artikkelen er tilliten i pasient-behandler-relasjonen.
Peptide classification using optimal and information theoretic syntactic modeling
2010
Accepted version of an article published in the journal: Pattern Recognition. Published version available on Sciverse: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.patcog.2010.05.022 We consider the problem of classifying peptides using the information residing in their syntactic representations. This problem, which has been studied for more than a decade, has typically been investigated using distance-based metrics that involve the edit operations required in the peptide comparisons. In this paper, we shall demonstrate that the Optimal and Information Theoretic (OIT) model of Oommen and Kashyap [22] applicable for syntactic pattern recognition can be used to tackle peptide classification problem. We advoca…
They Just Came with the Medication Dispenser’ – A Qualitative Study of Service User Involvement and Welfare Technology in Public Home Care Services
2020
Abstract BackgroundPublic home care for the elderly is a key area in relation to improving health care quality. It is an important political goal to increase elderly people’s involvement in their care and in the use of welfare technology. The aim of this study was to explore elderly service users’ experience of user involvement in the implementation and everyday use of welfare technology in public home care services.MethodThis qualitative study has an explorative and descriptive design. Sixteen interviews of service users were conducted in five different municipalities over a period of six months. The data were analysed using reflexive thematic analysis. Results Service users receiving publ…
A Novel Fault Indicator for Local Demagnetization in Fractional-Slot Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor using Winding Function Theory
2020
Local demagnetization is an irreparable failure mode in permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs), resulting in reduced motor efficiency and high cogging torque. These effects are particularly disadvantageous to fractional-slot wound PMSMs used in industrial applications, such as robotics and automations, that require high power density and precise operation. In this article, a diagnostic indicator is developed for detecting local demagnetization fault in fractional-slot wound PMSMs based on winding function theory, utilizing back-electromotive force (back-EMF) as a medium for fault detection. Further, the developed indicator is validated in a commercial fractional-slot wound PMSM of an i…
Dannelse og samskaping av utdanning mellom akademia og sykehjem En kritisk etnografisk studie
2020
Cultivation and co-creation of education between academy and nursing home-a critical ethnography study Collaboration between academy and practicein education is emphasized. In this study, weexplored and described boundary-crossing spaces, when co-creating an adjusted educational program for nursing students in a nursing home in Norway. Our aim was to explore how to learn person-centered dementia care through the participants in a learning community. A critical ethnographic approach and method with observations, field notes, minutes of board, spontaneous meetings, and focus groups particularly with the students were used. Data were analyzed with six-step thematic analysis by Braun and Clarke…

Background: This project has become as a result of my work in mental hospital for adults, where my experience is that many adults who have had traumatic experiences in early years of life have got reduced quality of life as grownups. My question has been: “who is able to identify children and young people with mental challenges in early years of life?” Objective: The aim of this study has been to get knowledge about which challenges pedagogical- psychological services (PPT) face, and how they help and which experiences the consultants have about children and young people`s mental health. This has lead to the research question: “How experience and in what way does PPT relate to children and …
User-centred Design of a Digital Care Plan for Patients and Professionals in Cross-organisational Teams
2021
Care for patients with multimorbidity and long-term complex needs is costly and with demographic changes this group is growing. The research project Dignity Care addresses how to improve the care for this patient group by studying how a conceptual shared digital care plan for complex clinical pathways can guide and support cross-organisational care teams. This paper presents the user-centred design process for the digital care plan development. Panels of patients and health care professionals will participate in co-creation user workshops and simulation of complex patients’ pathways. The main contribution from this work is recommendations for how to actively involve user groups in digital h…
User-centred Design of a Mobile Application for Chronic Pain Management
2020
Chronic pain patients constitute a large and heterogeneous patient group and it is important to build tools and methods that can identify efficient treatment options for each individual patient. It is estimated that 20-30% of the population has suffered from chronic pain and this imposes enormous costs on society and the national welfare programs. The research project Chronic Pain addresses the problem of how to provide patients and physicians with relevant, valid and adapted decision alternatives in a shared decision making tool. This paper presents the results from co-creation workshops early in the user-centred design process of the chronic pain mobile application. The end-users contribu…
Perceived effects of health status on sexual activity in women and men older than 50
2014
Published version of an article from the journal: Health and Quality of Life Outcomes. Also available from the publisher: http://dx.doi.org/10.1186/1477-7525-12-43 Background Sexual activity and enjoyment are considered to be important components of quality of life (QOL) for adults of all ages. However, limited data are available on the effects of health status on sexual activity in women and men older than 50 years. Thus, our aim was to explore the perceived effects of health status on sexual activity in women and men older than 50 years. Methods For this purpose we used data from an age and gender matched control study initially designed to study QOL in patients with low-energy wrist frac…
