Energy-independent new physics in the flavour ratios of high-energy astrophysical neutrinos

We have studied the consequences of breaking the CPT symmetry in the neutrino sector, using the expected high-energy neutrino flux from distant cosmological sources such as active galaxies. For this purpose we have assumed three different hypotheses for the neutrino production model, characterised by the flavour fluxes at production phi(0)(e) : phi(0)(mu) : phi(0)(tau) = 1 : 2 : 0, 0 : 1 : 0, and 1 : 0 : 0, and studied the theoretical and experimental expectations for the muon-neutrino flux at Earth, phi(mu), and for the flavour ratios at Earth, R = phi(mu)/phi(e) and S = phi(tau)/phi(mu). We study the possible effects of new physics in $\mathrm{CP}$ asymmetries in two-body ${B}_{s}$ decays in left-right models with spontaneous $\mathrm{CP}$ violation. Considering the contributions of new $\mathrm{CP}$ phases to the ${B}_{s}$ mixing as well as to the penguin-dominated decay amplitudes we show that, with the present constraints, large deviations from the standard model predictions in $\mathrm{CP}$ asymmetries are allowed in both cases. The detection of new physics can be achieved by measuring nonzero asymmetries which are predicted to vanish in the standard model or by comparing two measurements which are predicted to be equal in the standard model. Search forBmeson decays toη′η′K

We describe searches for decays of B mesons to the charmless final states eta' eta' K. The data consist of 228 million B Bbar pairs produced in e+ e- annihilation, collected with the BaBar detector at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The 90% confidence level upper limits for the branching fractions are Br(B0->eta' eta' K0) eta' eta' K+)<25 10^{-6}.
Search for directCPviolation in singly Cabibbo-suppressedD±→K+K−π±decays

We report on a search for direct CP violation in the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay D^+→K^+K^-π^+ using a data sample of 476 fb^(-1) of e^+e^- annihilation data accumulated with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II electron-positron collider, running at and just below the energy of the Υ(4S) resonance. The integrated CP-violating decay rate asymmetry A_(CP) is determined to be (0.37±0.30±0.15)%. Model-independent and model-dependent Dalitz plot analysis techniques are used to search for CP-violating asymmetries in the various intermediate states. We find no evidence for CP-violation asymmetry.

The authors present measurements of the branching fractions for B{sup 0} meson decays to {eta}{prime}K{sup 0} and {omega}K{sup 0}, and of the branching fractions and CP-violation charge asymmetries for B{sup +} meson decays to {eta}{pi}{sup +}, {eta}K{sup +}, {eta}{prime}{pi}{sup +}, {eta}{prime}K{sup +}, {omega}{pi}{sup +}, and {omega}K{sup +}. The data, collected with the BABAR detector at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, represent 383 million B{bar B} pairs produced in e{sup +}e{sup -} annihilation. The measurements agree with previous results; they find no evidence for direct CP violation.

We describe searches for decays to two-body charmless final states eta(')eta, eta(')pi(0) and eta pi(0) of B-0 mesons produced in e(+)e(-) annihilation. The data, collected with the BABAR detector at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, represent 232x10(6) produced B (B) over bar pairs. The results for branching fractions are, in units of 10(-6) (upper limits at 90% C.L.): B(B-0->eta(')eta)=0.2(-0.5)(+0.7)+/- 0.4( eta pi(0))=0.6(-0.4)(+0.5)+/- 0.1( eta(')pi(0))=0.8(-0.6)(+0.8)+/- 0.1(< 2.1). The first error quoted is statistical and the second systematic.

We report a measurement of the parameter y(CP) in D-0-(D) over bar (0) oscillations performed by taking advantage of quantum coherence between pairs of D-0(D) over bar (0) mesons produced in e(+)e(-) annihilations near threshold. In this work, doubly-tagged D-0(D) over bar (0) events, where one D decays to a CP eigenstate and the other D decays in a semileptonic mode, are reconstructed using a data sample of 2.92 fb(-1) collected with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energy of root s = 3.773 GeV. We obtain y(CP) = (-2.0 +/- 1.3 +/- 0.7)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This result is compatible with the current world average.
General flavor blind minimal supersymmetric standard model andCPviolation

We study the implications on flavor changing neutral current and $\mathrm{CP}$ violating processes in the context of supersymmetric theories without a new flavor structure (flavor blind supersymmetry). The low-energy parameters are determined by the running of the soft breaking terms from the grand unified scale with supersymmetric (SUSY) phases consistent with the electric dipole moment constraints. We find that the $\mathrm{CP}$ asymmetry in $\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{b}s\ensuremath{\gamma}$ can reach large values potentially measurable at B factories, especially in the low $BR(\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{b}s\ensuremath{\gamma})$ region, while the contributions to electr…
CPT violation in entangled B0–B¯0 states and the demise of flavour tagging

Abstract We discuss the demise of flavour tagging due to the loss of the particle–antiparticle identity of neutral B -mesons in the Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen correlated states. Such a situation occurs in cases where the CPT operator is ill-defined, as happens, for example, in quantum gravity models with induced decoherence in the matter sector. The time evolution of the perturbed B 0 – B ¯ 0 initial state, as produced in B -factories, is sufficient to generate new two-body states. For flavour specific decays at equal times, we discuss two definite tests of the two body entanglement: (i) search for the would-be forbidden B 0 B 0 and B ¯ 0 B ¯ 0 states; (ii) deviations from the indistinguishabl…
CP-violation with bosons

We formulate the conditions under which a purely bosonic theory (without fermions) containing neutral spin-0 particles and vector (gauge) bosons violates the CP-symmetry through the presence of CP-even and CP-odd operators in the Lagrangian. This is done without reference to explicitly CP-violating scalar sector of extended standard models (SM) with two or more Higgs doublets. The Lagrangian expressed in the mass basis of the spin-0 fields can, however, in certain cirumstances be identified with a part of the CP-violating SM with two Higgs doublets.
