Eco e la televisione

2018

L’arguzia interpretati…

Economia circolare e nuove forme produttive

2017

1990

The aim of the present article is to provide a statistical assessmentof the amount of public money developing countries will nedd to spend in order to meet the estimated demand for primary education in the year 2000 and to evaluate the cost of providing universal primary education by that date.

Atlas construction and image analysis using statistical cardiac models

2010

International audience; This paper presents a brief overview of current trends in the construction of population and multi-modal heart atlases in our group and their application to atlas-based cardiac image analysis. The technical challenges around the construction of these atlases are organized around two main axes: groupwise image registration of anatomical, motion and fiber images and construction of statistical shape models. Application-wise, this paper focuses on the extraction of atlas-based biomarkers for the detection of local shape or motion abnormalities, addressing several cardiac applications where the extracted information is used to study and grade different pathologies. The p…

Existence and uniqueness results for a nonlinear evolution equation arising in growing cell populations

2014

Abstract The present paper is concerned with a nonlinear initial–boundary value problem derived from a model introduced by Rotenberg (1983) describing the growth of a cell population. Each cell of this population is distinguished by two parameters: its degree of maturity μ and its maturation velocity v . At mitosis, the daughter cells and mother cells are related by a general reproduction rule. We prove existence and uniqueness results in the case where the total cross-section and the boundary conditions are depending on the total density of population. Local and nonlocal reproduction rules are discussed.

Scatter Search for the Point-Matching Problem in 3D Image Registration

2008

Scatter search is a population-based method that has recently been shown to yield promising outcomes for solving combinatorial and nonlinear optimization problems. Based on formulations originally proposed in the 1960s for combining decision rules and problem constraints, such as the surrogate constraint method, scatter search uses strategies for combining solution vectors that have proved effective in a variety of problem settings. We present a scatter-search implementation designed to find high-quality solutions for the 3D image-registration problem, which has many practical applications. This problem arises in computer vision applications when finding a correspondence or transformation …

Calculate Pulse from Touch Error Free PPG Signal with 2ndOrder Butterworth Filter

2021

With the ongoing heart problems of the population worldwide, the medical requirements of the people are expected to increase. Electrocardiogram (ECG) is one of the proven to capture the heart response signal to assess the electrical and muscular functions of the heart. The ECG setup is expensive and needs proper training, and of course, it is not instant. For fast, accurate heart parameter monitoring, scientists pay attention to the photoplethysmogram signal (PPG), based on the light intensity of a particular wavelength. Android smartphone with a good quality camera has come to ordinary people's reach and has become one of the most necessary and rugged devices for today and future generatio…

Population and Query Interface for a Content-Based Video Database

2002

In this paper we describe the first full implementation of a content-based indexing and retrieval system for MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 videos. We consider a video as a collection of spatiotemporal segments called video objects; each video object is a sequence of video object planes. A set of representative video object planes is used to index each video object. During the database population, the operator, using a semi-automatic outlining tool we developed, manually selects video objects and insert some semantical information. Low-level visual features like color, texture, motion and geometry are automatically computed. The system has been implemented on a commercial relational DBMS and is based on…
