Forecasting Training Needs in the Hotel, Catering and Tourism Sector : A Comparative Analysis of Results from Regional Studies in Three European Coun…
2001
International audience; The European Union's recent LABOURatory project on "Regular Forecasting of Training Needs" was intended to explore labour-market information systems and methods in four EU Member States (France, Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands) and to compare them with data availability and applicable methods in three candidate countries (Czech Republic, Poland and Slovenia). The ultimate goal of the project, which was carried out under the Leonardo da Vinci programme, was the elaboration of a methodology for forecasting training needs that would be applicable in the context of labour markets in transition economies, as well as the improvement of existing prognostic approaches i…

Six versus 2 weeks treatment with doxycycline in European Lyme neuroborreliosis: a multicentre, noninferiority, double-blinded, randomised and placeb…
2022
BackgroundThere is limited evidence regarding optimal duration of antibiotic treatment in neuroborreliosis. We aimed to compare efficacy and safety of oral doxycycline for 2 and 6 weeks in European Lyme neuroborreliosis (LNB).MethodsThe trial had a randomised, double-blinded, placebo-controlled, non-inferiority design. Patients with LNB were recruited from eight Norwegian hospitals and randomised to doxycycline 200 mg once daily for 2 weeks, followed by 4 weeks of placebo, or doxycycline 200 mg once daily for 6 weeks. The primary endpoint was clinical improvement as measured by difference in a Composite Clinical Score (0–64 points) from baseline to 6 months. The non-inferiority margin was p…
Pueblo de santos y peregrinaciones en las diócesis de Autun y de Nevers: del tiempo de los mártires al tiempo de las reformas, IV - XVIII siglos
2006
Between the IVth and the XVIIIth century in Burgundy (Nevers to Vezelay area), the number of pilgrimage churches have increased with an important renewal rate. Indeed, the choice of saints, institutions, or objects of devotion depends on various references. Adapting the framework and updating hagiography to the evolution of piety are means of preservation against disinterest and decreased gains. What is miraculous or not is changing and depends on unstable religious and social settings, therefore it becomes necessary to consider both important and sustainable sites than short-lived ones and vain attempts to develop a pilgrimage site. By resorting as much as possible to the original document…
Drunkenness in Early Modern France (XVI - XVIIIth century)
2010
From the 16th to the 18th century, a deeply rooted tradition of open and celebrative inebriation existed in the kingdom of France. Society permitted collective, festive and social drinking. But many opposed drunkenness. In France at that time, absolute monarchy from divine right was developing, and the fundamental opposition came from religious and civic powers. Drunkenness was seen either as a sin or as a vice of variable severity that drove others to commit it as well. From 1536, a connection was made between sin and crime: inebriation became an auxiliary crime. However, in face of the culture of inebriation, religious and political authorities acted pragmatically and did not really attem…
The impact of study design and diagnostic approach in a large multi-centre ADHD study. Part 1: ADHD symptom patterns
2011
Contains fulltext : 96439.pdf (Publisher’s version ) (Open Access) BACKGROUND: The International Multi-centre ADHD Genetics (IMAGE) project with 11 participating centres from 7 European countries and Israel has collected a large behavioural and genetic database for present and future research. Behavioural data were collected from 1068 probands with the combined type of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD-CT) and 1446 'unselected' siblings. The aim was to analyse the IMAGE sample with respect to demographic features (gender, age, family status, and recruiting centres) and psychopathological characteristics (diagnostic subtype, symptom frequencies, age at symptom detection, and com…
Maintaining information in Short-Term Memory between 2 and 6 years old of age : temporal forgetting and helping in maintaining the goal
2014
Working memory is an essential component of thought that is highly involved in learning and academic achievement. However, it is rarely studied in preschoolers, mainly because of a lack of suitable paradigms. Therefore, this thesis investigated the functioning of working memory in children between 2 and 6 years. For this purpose, two original paradigms were used. They were designed to be close to game situations which should help young children to focus their attention on the task. Firstly it was shown that the recall performance decreased over time, even in the absence of an interfering task. Children of this age therefore use a passive maintenance, i.e. without spontaneously implementing …
