Geographical distribution and oncogenic risk association of human papillomavirus type 58 E6 and E7 sequence variations.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) 58 accounts for a notable proportion of cervical cancers in East Asia and parts of Latin America, but it is uncommon elsewhere. The reason for such ethnogeographical predilection is unknown. In our study, nucleotide sequences of E6 and E7 genes of 401 HPV58 isolates collected from 15 countries/cities across four continents were examined. Phylogenetic relationship, geographical distribution and risk association of nucleotide sequence variations were analyzed. We found that the E6 genes of HPV58 variants were more conserved than E7. The study of moral judgements often centres on moral dilemmas in which options consistent with deontological perspectives (that is, emphasizing rules, individual rights and duties) are in conflict with options consistent with utilitarian judgements (that is, following the greater good based on consequences). Greene et al. (2009) showed that psychological and situational factors (for example, the intent of the agent or the presence of physical contact between the agent and the victim) can play an important role in moral dilemma judgements (for example, the trolley problem). Identification of Copy Number Variations and Genetic Diversity in Italian Insular Sheep Breeds

Simple Summary The aim of this work is to identify CNVs and perform a CNV-based population genetics analysis in five Italian sheep breeds (Barbaresca, Comisana, Pinzirita, Sarda, and Valle del Belìce). We identified 10,207 CNVs and 365 CNV regions (CNVRs). The different approaches used to disclose the genetic relationship showed that the five breeds tend to cluster in distinct groups. Gene enrichment was described for the 37 CNVRs selected considering the top 10%. Gene Ontology analysis showed that several of these genes are involved in lipid metabolism, immune response, and the olfactory pathway. This paper presents a procedure for the identification of imperfections of structural parameters based on displacement measurements by static tests. The proposed procedure is based on the well-known Hu–Washizu variational principle, suitably modified to account for the response measurements, which is able to provide closed-form solutions to some inverse problems for the identification of structural parameter imperfections in beams.
