Käsillä oleva tutkielma tarkastelee Ernesto Laclaun poliittista filosofiaa kansainvälisen politiikan näkökulmasta. Ennen kaikkea Laclaun tulkinta universalismin ja partikularismin välisestä suhteesta on työn kannalta keskeisessä osassa. The idea of a common European cultural heritage is frequently referred to in the political discourses and practices of the EU.
