The road map toward an hepatitis C virus-free transplant population

Antiviral therapy to eradicate hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection improves outcomes in patients undergoing liver transplantation (LT) for advanced chronic HCV with or without hepatocellular carcinoma. Traditionally, antiviral therapy focused on the use of interferon (IFN)-based regimens, with antiviral treatment initiated in the posttransplant period once recurrent HCV disease with fibrosis in the allograft was identified. Digital Learning Interventions in Higher Education: A Scoping Review.

Abstract This scoping review was undertaken to synthesize and describe research related to digital learning interventions in higher education, focusing on technological outcomes. Five electronic databases were searched, and 86 articles were included in the review. The data related to positive and negative technological outcomes and authors’ suggestions were analyzed using inductive content analysis. The articles represented six disciplines across six continents and included quantitative (n = 65), qualitative (n = 3), and mixed-methods (n = 18) intervention studies. Life two years after a game programming course: longitudinal viewpoints on K-12 outreach

In our faculty we have run week-long K-12 game programming courses now for three summers. In this paper we investigate what programming-related activities students do after they take a course, and what factors in the students' background relate to post-course programming. We also investigate a possible change in the students' interest towards higher education science studies. We find that most students continue programming after the course and that their interest towards science studies keeps increasing. In student background we observed some indicative trends, but did not find reliable explaining factors related to post-course programming or increased interest towards science studies.

Exercising recommendations for paroxysmal AF in young and middle-aged athletes (PAFIYAMA) syndrome.

We have recently described a new syndrome: strenuous endurance exercise-related atrial fibrillation (AF) under the acronym of ‘paroxysmal AF in young and middle-aged athletes’ (‘PAFIYAMA’). Provided that other risk factors for AF and underlying conditions have been excluded (1), the diagnostic criteria for this syndrome entail a number of conditions, classified as major and minor. Documentation, as a term, encompasses very different instruments and procedures. In early childhood institutions, the amount of documentation has increased due to both professional interests and external requirements. The edited volume considers documentation as constitutive in any institution and as possessing agentic power in institutions. Therefore, the key interest of the book is research into the ways in which documentation becomes productive in situ in early childhood institutions. The focus is on research that considers documentation from three viewpoints: as a means of normalisation, as being interlinked with participation, and as reflecting a changing professionalism.

The impact of translators’ ideology on the translation process: a reaction time experiment

This paper presents an experiment designed to measure the influence that a translator’s political stance may exert on the time needed to find a translation solution when working with ideologically loaded concepts. To this purpose, a reaction time experiment (with positive and negative prompting conditions) was designed to evaluate whether words and expressions that are contrary to the translator’s ideology may slow down the translation process, making translators take longer to find an adequate translation.
