Dialogues in partner abusive clients' group treatment: conversational tools used by counselors with differently motivated clients.

This qualitative study investigated talk and interaction as process factors potentially influencing outcomes in abuser group intervention. The findings showed that (a) abusers participate in group programs with considerably different degrees of motivation; (b) the interaction in abusers’ various stages of change is characterized by different qualities; and (c) group counselors face a challenge in adapting their ways of working to abusers’ various needs and backgrounds. The findings demonstrate the importance of attending to the interactional elements in abuser treatment programs and show the value of matching an abuser’s needs and degree of motivation with the timing of interventions. The article shows the specificity of comic violence, quite different from the epic and the tragic one. With the exception of the farcical scenes of beating and whacking, violence is effectively absent, but left only to the words, death is threatened with grotesque and ridiculous ways, as it shown in the parody of Telephus in the scene of the threat of killing the little Orestes, in Acharnians and Thesmophoriazusae, with the use of reification. Then, it is claimed that the absence of violence in comedy scene is determined by the deliberate will of the poet to exclude from its theater the constituent element of the tragic genre, opposite and complementary to the comic.

The article focuses on the verbal and visual communication disorders in Iphigeneia at Aulis by Euripides. The aim is to show that the alteration of looks and words is directly related to the impending sacrificial violence. And that, therefore, the violence is the cause of the interrupted communication between the characters of the tragedy.

ABSTRACT This study focuses on the effectiveness of an app-based, monitored intervention using the Liad@s app in a residential youth-care setting. The aim of this intervention is to reduce maladaptive beliefs and attitudes linked to dating violence: distortions or myths about romantic love and hostile and benevolent dimensions of sexism.
