The Hybridization between the visible and virtual territory has become a commonplace for much of urban population. The city is mutating into an extended form in which the visible and virtual dimensions are blurred. In this sense, the city has a physical dimension that we appropriate differently and a semiotic dimension that allows us to communicate and establish social bonds. The abstract examines how European policies is facilitating the construction of smart cities which have a cultural heritage to be safeguarded.

How to get things done in social virtual reality : A study of team cohesion in social virtual reality–enabled teams

Social virtual reality (SVR) enables teams to operate in a virtual environment that simulates and enhances real-world interactions. However, there is an absence of empirical analysis of how SVR can affect the performance of virtual teams. This paper documents how SVR affects the formation of team cohesion (i.e., task cohesion and social cohesion), which is a critical success factor for team performance. To address this gap in the research, we conducted a qualitative study by interviewing 20 members from virtual teams assigned to perform a challenging collaborative task in SVR. Virtual exchange comprises online collaborative activities in facilitated, educational contexts across borders. This paper offers a multimodal approach to the study of social presence in students’ asynchronous online discourse in the context of virtual exchange. PURPOSE: To describe an original protocol for single slice spiral Computed Tomography (CT) virtual bronchoscopy in the evaluation of patients with central airway stenoses and compare the results with fibreoptic bronchoscopy.
