In this work, two applications for the visualization of the aggregation and the solubilization of structureless interacting particles are presented. The applications allow to demonstrate on a qualitative basis as well as by quantitatively monitoring the time evolution of the surface/volume ratio and of the fractions of aggregated particles, that, on the one hand, the growth of nanoaggregates implies a decrease of their surface/volume ratio and, on the other, that the formation of homogeneous mixtures is the result of favorable solute-solvent interactions as well as of temperature. Fibre fragment distribution in a single-fibre composite tension test

Abstract Single fibre fragmentation tests are performed for brittle fibres with Weibull strength distribution and different surface treatments. The fragmentation process is modelled and closed-form expressions for break spacing distribution are obtained. The model accounts for the effect of finite fibre length on the initial fragmentation as well as for break interaction on the advanced fragmentation stage. It is assumed that the exclusion zone due to fibre–matrix interface failure and stress recovery in the fibre is linearly dependent on the applied load. This assumption is validated experimentally. Farem un recorregut pels serveis inculats amb la tecnologia i suport a l'ensenyament, els campus i aules virtuals presents en cadascuna d'aquestes universitats, així com pels esforços realitzats per La xarxa d'Universitats Virtuals Andaluzas per a la creació i desenvolupament del Campus Virtual Andaluz del qual formen part totes les universitats andaluses a través d'una àmplia oferta d'activitats d'ensenyament en línia.
Electronic polarizability of small metal spheres

We present the results of calculations for the ground-state electron structure, static polarizability, and dynamic response of small metal (jellium) spheres in vacuum or embedded in a dielectric. Fully self-consistent time-dependent density-functional methods are used. In particular, the static and dynamic responses to an incident electric field (dipolar polarizability and photoabsorption) are obtained. The results show substantial deviations from either classical or approximate quantum-mechanical solutions, and provide reference data for simplified treatments. Peer reviewed

This study aims to provide a comprehensive exploration of the lived experiences of individuals who attended a multi-day electronic dance music festival. The present study was primarily interested in the perceived beneficial changes within the individual, following their festival experience. Bakalaura darba tēma “Lietotāja digitālā vizuālā identitāte un tās vērtējums sociālajā tīklošanās vietnē “Instagram” (vecuma grupā no 18-35 gadiem)”. Darba teorētiskā daļa balstās uz digitālās vizuālās identitātes veidojošajiem faktoriem, kā arī dažādiem vizuālās kultūras aspektiem un tās nozīmi mūsdienās. Ar vizuālās kontentanalīzes palīdzību tika analizēti sociālo tīklošanās vietņu patērētāju, “Instagram” lietošanas un vizuālo materiālu publicēšanas paradumi. Un ar interneta aptauju tika ievākti vispārīgi dati par digitālās vizuālās identitātes nozīmi patērētāju vidū.
