Celem tekstu jest analiza tak zwanego karnawału ruchu „Solidarności” (1980-1981) w polskich filmach (na wybranych przykładach). Do chwili obecnej najważniejszym jego obrazem jest „Człowiek z żelaza” Andrzeja Wajdy, stanowiący kamień milowy w polskim kinie i będący częścią mitologii solidarnościowej. Inne filmy próbują doń nawiązywać lub go naśladować, co z reguły przynosi wątpliwe rezultaty. Complex vein systems as a data source in tectonics: An example from the Ugab Valley, NW Namibia

Abstract Neoproterozoic metaturbidites in the Lower Ugab Domain, Namibia, contain a complex network of four sets of quartz-calcite veins, overprinted by km-scale folds associated with four regional foliations. The veins formed by fluid overpressure predating the main deformation. Deformation structures developed at the junction of two mobile belts during the assembly of Gondwana, the NS Kaoko Belt, and the EW trending Damara Belt. Km-scale NS trending folds were initiated during EW constriction in the Kaoko Belt, while their further development and all subsequent events are related to constriction in the EW-Damara Belt, with coeval sinistral strike slip in the Kaoko Belt. Mobile Encounter Network - the missing data link

In this paper, we discuss about the applicability of a short-range wireless communication scheme called Mobile Encounter Network (MEN). Encounters between devices communicating while moving allows ad-hoc -type data transfer to be performed. A background for the emerging of such networks is given. The essential properties of the MEN data transfer are specified. Based on this, the role of MEN as a data transfer medium is discussed. The conclusion is that such networking technique may provide additional value compared to the traditional wireless communication.

Background: An adequate vitamin intake is essential for a good nutritional status, especially in older women, who are more sensitive to nutritional deficiencies. The American, European and Italian Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs) derive mainly from studies on adults, and it is not clear whether they also apply to elderly people. Comparing the RDAs with the actual vitamin intake of a group of healthy older women could help to clarify the real needs of elderly people.
