Giuseppe Cocchiara, il fascismo e il razzismo

2021

Yes when as in a "world upside down" having defeated fascism under the weight of a humiliating and bloody defeat it will be precisely the hated English who will enhance his intellectual stature and the new democratic Italy to allow him to have an irresistible academic rise and scientific.Settore M-STO/04 - Storia ContemporaneaSettore M-DEA/01 - Discipline DemoetnoantropologicheIn this essay the relationship between Giuseppe Cocchiara and fascism is reconstructed. Jet fragmentation transverse momentum distributions in pp and p-Pb collisions at √s, √sNN = 5.02 TeV

2021

Jet fragmentation transverse momentum (jT) distributions are measured in proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. Jets are reconstructed with the ALICE tracking detectors and electromagnetic calorimeter using the anti-kT algorithm with resolution parameter R = 0.4 in the pseudorapidity range |η| < 0.25. The jT values are calculated for charged particles inside a fixed cone with a radius R = 0.4 around the reconstructed jet axis. The measured jT distributions are compared with a variety of parton-shower models. Herwig and Pythia 8 based models describe the data well for the higher jT region, while they underestimate the low…

related to the perturbative component of the fragmentation processthe measured trends are successfully described by all models except for Herwig. For the wide componentHerwig and PYTHIA 8 based models slightly underestimate the data for the higher jet transverse momentum region. These measurements set constraints on models of jet fragmentation and hadronisation.Nuclear and High Energy Physicswhile that of the inverse gamma function increases with increasing jet transverse momentum. The jT distributions are further characterised by fitting them with a function composed of an inverse gamma function for higher jT values (called the “wide component”)predominantly connected to the hadronisation process. Mariano Benlliure Gil, artífice de la recuperación del patrimonio escultórico para la Cofradía California de Cartagena

2020

After the patrimonial destruction that took place during the Civil War of 1936-1939 in the city of Cartagena, religious art and especially sacred sculpture, is greatly affected. The artistic expressions that the Passionist entities took to the streets on the days of Holy Week, disappear almost in their entirety, having to start a tremendously costly reconstruction process in order to alleviate the losses suffered. The Cofradía California commissioned the renovation of its sculptural patrimony heritage, which came to replace the wealth of the works of Salzillo, to the Valencian artist Mariano Benlliure Gil. All this process is the one studied in this article, keeping in mind the different bi…

Foot and Lower Limb Clinical and Structural Changes in Overuse Injured Recreational Runners Using Floating Heel Shoes: Preliminary Results of a Rando…

2021

Foot-strike and the associated load rate are factors related to overuse injuries in runners. The purpose of this study was to analyse structural and functional changes in runners using floating heel running shoes, compared with runners using conventional footwear. A randomised control trial was conducted. Twenty runners with overuse injuries were followed over a 12-week gait retraining programme using floating heel running shoes or their conventional footwear. Pain was measured with pressure pain thresholds (PPTs), structural changes were measured with ultrasonography, and severity and impact of injury was scored on the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Centre Overuse Injury Questionnaire (OSTRC-…

Study of the Strengths and Weaknesses of Nursing Work Environments in Primary Care in Spain

2021

Background: Nursing work environments are defined as the characteristics of the workplace that promote or hinder the provision of professional care by nurses. Positive work environments lead to better health outcomes. Our study aims to identify the strengths and weaknesses of primary health care settings in Spain. Methods: Cross-sectional study carried out from 2018 to 2019. We used the Practice Environment Scale of the Nursing Work Index and the TOP10 Questionnaire of Assessment of Environments in Primary Health Care for data collection. The associations between sociodemographic and professional variables were analyzed. Results: In total, 702 primary care nurses participated in the study. …

P4Well Concept to Empower Self-Management of Psychophysiological Wellbeing and Load Recovery

2009

Chronic health problems related to mental wellbeing are rapidly growing, calling for novel solutions focusing on individual as a psychophysiological being. We describe a novel technology-based concept for empowering citizen towards holistic self-management of her wellbeing: “P4Well” (Pervasive Personal and PsychoPhysiological management of WELLness). The primary focus of the concept is on management of stress and recovery from stress caused by daily life through improved health management strategies. The P4Well concept combines modern psychological methods with personal health technologies. The technologies include a web-portal and web-based tools, mobile phone with mobile client applicatio…

Some fixed point theorems for occasionally weakly compatible mappings in probabilistic semi-metric spaces

2009

We prove some common fixed point theorems in probabilistic semi-metric spaces for occasionally weakly compatible mappings satisfying a generalized contractive condition. We give also results of common fixed point for mappings satisfying a condition of integral type.

"Postfit yields Y(4S)" of "Search for $B^{+}\to K^{+}\nu\bar{\nu}$ decays using an inclusive tagging method at Belle II"

2022

Yields in on-resonance data and as predicted by the simultaneous fit to the on- and off-resonance data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 63 and 9 fb$^{−1}$, respectively. The predicted yields are shown individually for charged and neutral B-meson decays and the five continuum background categories. The leftmost three bins belong to the first control region (CR1) with BDT$_{2} \in [0.93; 0.95]$ and the other nine bins correspond to the signal region (SR), three for each range of BDT$_{2} \in [0.95; 0.97; 0.99; 1.0]$. Each set of three bins is defined by $p_{T}(K^{+}) \in [0.5; 2.0; 2.4; 3.5] \rm{GeV}/c^{2}$.
