Giuseppe Cocchiara, il fascismo e il razzismo
2021
Physical Weaponization of a Smartphone by a Third Party
2022
In the literature and media, the treatment of the dangers and exposures posed by smartphones has generally focused on information security or privacy concerns. There have also been reports of fires, explosions, electric shocks, or loss of phone functionality due to faulty design or manufacture. This article provides an overview of acute physical and physiological dangers of smartphones that could be induced or triggered by a third party. It proposes a categorical discussion framework to describe and define the dangers in terms of attack vectors, effects on the smartphone, harms, and potential culprits/instigators. Counterfeit smartphones are themselves a significant potential threat in this…

Battle of Kosovo field in 1389 – legendary battle of Balkan Middle Ages
2018
The main goal of this paper is the examine the circumstances of the Kosovo battle in 1389. Fundamental difficulty in describing this battle results from the fact that there was no separate chronicler. Moreover, the description of the battle of Kosovo field is based only on fragmentary information transmitted by Serbian, Bosnian, Turkish or Byzantine chroniclers. The author of this article proposed a thesis that battle of Kosovo field contributed to development of both Ottoman and Serbian art of warfare. It enabled improvement of army of Padishah, which would continue policy of conquest of the Balkans in subsequent years. What is more, this battle, which had actually no winner, paradoxically…
2019
In 2002, excavations carried out by Marie-Cécile Truc (Inrap) at Saint-Dizier led to the discovery of four graves of exceptional wealth, containing a young woman, two men and a horse, dated to c. 525-550 AD. Dressed and adorned with numerous jewels, the young female was laid in a coffin upon which were placed vessels in glass, copper alloy goblet and ceramic. Each male had been buried in an excavated funerary chamber, built within an oak frame. They were laid in their coffins along with their personal clothing, including a ceremonial sword with two rings added to the pommel. The larger weapons (throwing axes, shields, lances and angons) as well as various utensils were placed either on the …
2022
The Onnen sword was found in 1896 while exploiting a peat bog, about 1.5 m deep. It is a so-called “antennae” sword, named after the spirals at the top of the pommel and it dates back to last phase of the Bronze Age (ca. 9th century BC). The Groninger Museum now curates the sword with inventory number 1896/I 4. Although this sword is already mentioned in the archaeological literature, it was never correctly published. Its recent study in the cultural heritage agency of The Netherlands gives us a good opportunity to make a detailed presentation as well as to investigate its production techniques to discuss its possible origins.
L'armement à l'âge du Bronze final en Europe tempérée (XVIe -IXe siècles av. J.-C.) : éléments dispersés d'une « panoplie de guerrier » ?
2022
