La sage-femme, « vertueuse et experte »

2018

» « Vertueus...

The risk for cardiovascular disease in women: from estrogens to selective estrogen receptor modulators.

2006

Cardiovascular disease, a generic denomination including coronary heart disease (CHD), stroke, and venous thromboembolic disease (VTED), has shown sensitivity to estrogens. The relative protection of women as compared with men has nourished a debate about a possible protective role for estrogens, but the prejudicial effects detected in clinical trials has created confusion on the risk/benefit ratio induced by hormone administration. The hypothesis that agonists distinct to estrogens might improve the effects associated with estrogens is at the base of the increasing interest on the role of selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs). There is a lack of definitive clearcut clinical data o…

Women of wine in Sicily: analysis of their role, motivation and work

2012

Recent surveys on female employment show that, in Italy, the number of Women Entrepreneurs has constantly increased. This work aims to study the "Women of Wine" in Sicily, those entrepreneurs or managers who hold leadership and decision-making roles within the wineries, focusing on age, qualification, type of activity, motivations that led to undertake the task, difficulties encountered, and also on changes made by women in the firm. By calculating the coefficient of contingency we intended to measure the association between some factors of development of women-run wineries in Sicily, namely between professional characteristics of women managers deemed most important for this investigation,…

Aiap Women in Design Award (AWDA) : Short History and Perspectives

2020

The biennial award organized by Aiap (the Italian Associa- tion of Visual Communication Design) intends to investigate the languages, poetics and different approaches to commu- nication design and explore the conditions in which women designers work. Not to examine a protected area or search for peculiarities characterizing women’s design methodol- ogy (Ferrara, 2018). Nevertheless, to act as a place whence to observe a partly hidden dimension, to use single projects to bring to light the wide-ranging, diverse world of women communication designers (Piscitelli, 2015). The award intends to emphasize the role that women graphic designers have or had in the professional and educational areas, …

AWDA Aiap Women in Design Award

2018

Aiap Women in Design Award is an ambitious project which develops a line of research that was started several years ag…
