Šis pētnieciskais darbs aplūko, kā identitāte un telpa tiek attēlotas Sandras Sisneros romānos „The House on Mango Street” (1989), „Woman Hollering Creek and Other Stories” (1992) un „Caramelo” (2003). Pētījuma mērķis ir izzināt, kā, parvietošanās un dzīves vietas pārmaiņu procesā, vieta ietekmē varoņu hibrīdidentitātes, ļauj saglabāt vietējā iezīmes globālā kontekstā. Pētījums tika veikts ar teksta tuvlasījuma analīzes palīdzību no naratoloģijas perspektīvas. Pētījumā iegūtie rezultāti var tikt izmantoti tālākai identitātes un telpas atainojuma Čikano literatūrā izpētei. Gendered Pathways Toward STEM Careers: The Incremental Roles of Work Value Profiles Above Academic Task Values.

Drawing on Eccles’ expectancy-value model of achievement-related choices, we examined how work values predict individual and gender differences in sciences, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) participations in early adulthood (ages of 25/27, 6 or 8 years after postsecondary school), controlling for subjective task values attached to academic subjects in late adolescence (11th grade, age 18). The study examined 1,259 Finnish participants using a person-oriented approach. Female knowledge workers and the illusion of working-time autonomy

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to ask: what are the temporal realities of female knowledge workers? It especially focusses on women’s possibilities of using working-time autonomy, and the work and non-work practices that shape their possibility to use work-hour autonomy. In knowledge work, working-time autonomy is usually high, but exercising autonomy is not always possible. The study was carried out in Finland, where full-time work is common also among women, even if they have small children. Central to this study are parliamentary debates relating to the Parliamentary Franchise (Women) Bill, better known as the first Conciliation Bill in 1910, as well as the writings published in 1910 in WSPU’s periodical, Votes for Women. This essay aims to highlight the inherent political significance that can be attributed to The Trojan Women through a comparison with Iphigenia at Aulis starting from the representation of the death of two innocent victims. The death of Astyanax, who seals the destruction of Troy and whose violence is explicitly displayed, shows a political meaning that is clear and unequivocal, whereas the representation of the sacrifice of Iphigenia, an early act of the expedition, is ambiguous and politically uncommitted.
