Assessment of antifungal activity of extracts from nettle (Urtica dioica L.) against Alternaria solani = Ocena aktywności przeciwgrzybowej ekstraktów…

2015

(Urtica dioica L.) w stężeniach 2,5, 5,0, 10,0, 20,0, 40,0% wobec fitopatogennego szczepu Alternaria solani.

Intellectual property strategies and firm growth : evidence from Finnish small business data

2012

The goal of this study is to shed light on the relationship between intellectual property (IP) strategies and firm growth. In brief, IP strategies are means of capturing returns on innovation investments. Employment effects and sales growth effects of innovations have been studied extensively in both theoretical and empirical economic literature but prior research has seldom included IP strategies into the analysis. There is little knowledge, whether there exists growth rate differences among firms that use different IP strategies and do patenting firms effectively demonstrate stronger growth than their non-patenting counterparts. Present study considers IP strategies as potential firm grow…

Influence of the Cultural Background at Small and Medium Sized-Enterprises Innovations in Regional Dimension

2017

Research background: SME’s play crucial role in economy’s development. In EU they make up 99% of all enterprises and are at the forefront of technological innovations (Kotler et al., 1999, pp. 139-140; EC 2013, p. 2; Jasińska-Biliczak, 2016, p. 30). Being the flywheel for economies (Soininen et. al., 2012, p. 614) are called “hidden champions” of 20th century. Over past few years Europe-wide anal-yses (Griffin, 2004, p. 424) have emphasised the importance of investing in SME’s. Taking into consideration that cultural environment is the background to decisions: social, managerial, development (Hofstede et al., 2011, p. 46), so inno-vations, knowledge, skills and competences as well as cultur…

La relazione tra imprenditorialità, innovazione e crescita economica: un confronto tra le macroregioni italiane

2016

The Relationship between Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Economic Growth: a Comparison between Italian Macro-Regions. This work is part of the scientific debate on the relationship between innovation and economic growth. In this paper the study of this quite complex and bidirectional relationship has been enhanced by a third factor that is entrepreneurship as a driving force for the development of local economies. Entrepreneurship can play a key role, especially for the regions of Southern Italy marked by significant delays in development than the regions of Central/North. The paper try to launch a reflection on the role of the University in the creation of entrepreneurship through two spe…

Measurements on the temperature dependence of the cationic polymerization of styrene in CH2Cl2 with CF3SO3H as catalyst

1979

The cationic polymerization of styrene in CH2Cl2 with CF3SO3H as catalyst and at low monomer concentrations shows, at −15°C, −45°C and −60°C, the same formal dependence on monomer concentration. The dependence on the catalyst concentration is approximately but not exactly of a third order.

Formation of nanosized strontium substituted hydroxyapatites

2012

Incorporation of specific elements into calcium phosphates offers the combination of a bioactive material and a therapeutic effect. This is important for improving the integration of implants as well as treating medical conditions. Strontium is a suitable candidate and displays the ability to stimulate bone growth and reducing bone resorption. This study investigated the formation of strontium carbonated hydroxyapatite nanoparticles from an amorphous phase. Crystallization of carbonated hydroxyapatite occurred at 585 o C, but samples with an intended 25% and 75% replacement of calcium with strontium crystallized at 624 o C. Heat treatment at the crystallization temperature revealed that str…

Institutional entrepreneurs: The driving force in institutionalization of public systems in developing countries

2013

PurposeWhile institutional theory is used widely in the information system (IS) literature to study implementation of systems, the actual process of institutionalization has received less attention. The purpose of this paper is to address this gap in the literature by using three concepts drawn from the theory, namely, institutional isomorphism, institutional logic and institutional entrepreneurship, and the interplay between them to explore the role of the dominant institutional entrepreneur in the institutionalization of a public system, as an instance of e‐government initiatives.Design/methodology/approachIn an interpretive case study, this study examined the institutionalization process…

Integrated Urban Regeneration – Solution for Cities Revitalize

2013

Abstract To overcome the crisis which present society faces, it's necessary find solutions, adopt new strategies, leading to transforming too and revitalizing urban areas. Urban regeneration means the improvement the quality of life and investing in the future, this action being a very broad one, continues, difficult, but not impossible, in any case imperative. This paper presents the results of a study on integrated sustainable urban regeneration in several European countries, including Romania, and comparison between these countries in terms of urban regeneration.

Simulation of Fatigue Delamination Growth in Composites with Different Mode Mixtures

2007

A numerical model, obtained by implementing a cyclic damage model in the framework of an interface element, is here proposed to reproduce the crack growth in laminated composites subjected to cyclically repeated loads. This model, which differs from the few studies in the literature on the topic, applies not only to single fracture modes but also to mixed modes, and to constant or variable crack growth rates. The applied load (in terms of force or displacement) is assumed to oscillate between a minimum and a maximum constant value. The Paris curve can be reproduced with accuracy once some parameters in the numerical model are tuned with experiments. These parameters are preliminarily found…
