Ptilostemon greuteri is one of the most endangered and poorly studied woody vascular plant species of the Mediterranean Basin, endemic to Sicily (Italy). Several peculiar traits confer to P. greuteri a character of uniqueness and an enigmatic attractiveness. In fact, at first glimpse the largest individuals of this species remind the most remarkable and peculiar cases of herbaceous genera (e.g., Echium, Senecio) turned woody on insular or insular-like mountain ecosystems. Ad esempio in "Un'altra donna" (1988) la Sinfonia n. 4 gioca un importante ruolo intra-diegetico che va oltre la semplice funzione informativa relativa all'ambiente sociale della protagonista. This paper will examine the relationship between Mahler and ‘moving image’ in the case of Woody Allen. As we know, the American director has a long-standing love affair with classical music. His films foreground music in many and interesting ways. One example can be found in "Another Woman" (1988). Here the Symphony No. 4 by Mahler plays an intra-diegetic role, but it goes beyond the simple ‘informative function’ about the social milieu of the main character. Mahler’s music appears also in other films, but in a wider perspective it operates as a focal point of most of Allen’s filmography. El texto examina la dialéctica que Woody Allen establece con la obra de Dostoievski, en particular con "Crimen y castigo", en su película "Delitos y faltas". Temas como la culpa, la suerte, el nihilismo o la existencia de Dios reciben un tratamiento inspirado en las novelas del autor ruso. Del análisis de la cinta se concluye que frente a la polifonía -en terminología de M. Bajtín- característica de Dostoievski, Allen pretende que prevalezca en el film su punto de vista pesimista sobre la naturaleza humana. Aun así, la omnipresente metáfora de la mirada y la pregunta constante por el amor provocan que también aquí surjan interrogantes en torno a la perspectiva dominante.

In these pages we reflect in particular on the cultural meanings conveyed by Woody Allen's film Sleeper and on their recontextualization which took place in the two adaptations for the Italian public. More generally, we aim to reflect on the outcomes of the translation of comedy into cinema and to think about how it, more than other translation processes, involves the revision and, sometimes, the rewriting not only of single jokes and gags, but of entire dialogues, with the aim of recontextualizing those comic jokes and situations to the cultural milieu and social intersubjective practice of the audience for which the dialogues are translated

The Kirkwood-Buff (KB) theory provides a rigorous framework to predict thermodynamic properties of isotropic liquids from the microscopic structure. Several thermodynamic quantities relate to KB integrals, such as partial molar volumes. KB integrals are expressed as integrals of RDFs over volume but can also be obtained from density fluctuations in the grand-canonical ensemble. Various methods have been proposed to estimate KB integrals from molecular simulation. Abstract The assessment of the rate law of slurry photocatalytic reactions appears to be a hard task, mainly because in this type of reactions the average rate of reaction, which is experimentally observed in a real reactor, could be very different from the “true” (intrinsic) rate of reaction, which cannot be measured directly.
