Objectives: To investigate the quality of sleep and the psychological profiles of a large cohort of Italian patients with burning mouth syndrome (BMS) and to clarify the relationships between these variables and pain. Beyond money and possessions, how are the rich different from the general population? Drawing on a unique sample of high-net-worth individuals from Germany (≥1 million Euro in financial assets; N = 130), nationally representative data (N = 22,981), and an additional online panel (N = 690), we provide the first direct investigation of the stereotypically perceived and self-reported personality profiles of high-net-worth individuals. New iPAD-based test for the detection of color vision deficiencies.

Purpose: To develop and validate a new iPad-based color vision test (Optopad). Methods: A total of 341 student eyes were enrolled in a first comparative study between Optopad and the Isihara tests. In a second comparative study, Optopad vs. the Farnworth-Munsell test (FM 100H), a total of 66 adult eyes were included. Besides the agreement between tests, the correlation between FM 100H and Optopad outcomes were investigated. Multiple regression analysis was used to predict the total error score (TES) from contrast thresholds measured with the Optopad test. Abstract Crashworthiness of composite structures is a key issue for the design of lightweight vehicles. In particular the joined parts of the structures must be able to absorb a high amount of energy in order to protect the passengers. In this paper the dynamic behavior of adhesively bonded carbon/epoxy laminate joints is investigated. The adherends are made of unidirectional plies, whose orientations are carefully chosen in order to assess the influence of the adherend mechanical properties on the joint behavior.
