Abstract This descriptive study sought to understand the complexities of integrative processing during collaborative online reading. Student pairs constructed a collaborative understanding while reading online information about a controversial issue by connecting, combining and organizing information that originated from prior knowledge, self-selected online texts, and discussions during an online inquiry task. In this paper, we present a formative experience in information literacy that can build on lasting from a reflexive, comparative approach skills; analytic and dialectic. On the theoretical side, we propose to reconcile the theories of human activity with simondiennes theories of technical culture. Bakalaura darba nosaukums ir ‘’Oficiālās japāņu valodas atšķirības rakstu valodā no mutiskās valodas,’’ kur oficiālo japāņu valodu saprot kā standarta valodu, ko izmanto valsts iestādēs un sarunvaloda, kura ir balstīta tieši uz standarta valodas, nevis kāda reģionālā dialekta. Tēma tika izvēlēta, jo, mācoties japāņu valodu, bieži rodas sarežģījumi tulkojumos vai interpretācijā, kad tiek salīdzināta rakstu valoda, kas ir standartizēta, ar sarunvalodu, kur netiek ievēroti visi gramatikas likumi un tiek izmantoti papildus izteiksmes veidi, ko nelieto rakstu valodā. In this article we analyse autobiographical narrative texts written by university students studying Catalan as an Additional Language at a CEFR (2020) B1 level. The goal is to analyse the formative needs related to the writing of this genre in order to foster metadiscursive reflection in the classroom that will allow students to improve their written output. To this end, we analyzed a corpus of 39 autobiographies at both the macrotextual level (i.e., rhetorical moves) and the microtextual level (i.e., deictic elements which channel the narrative’s organization).
