Iterative Methods for Pricing American Options under the Bates Model

We consider the numerical pricing of American options under the Bates model which adds log-normally distributed jumps for the asset value to the Heston stochastic volatility model. A linear complementarity problem (LCP) is formulated where partial derivatives are discretized using finite differences and the integral resulting from the jumps is evaluated using simple quadrature. A rapidly converging fixed point iteration is described for the LCP, where each iterate requires the solution of an LCP. These are easily solved using a projected algebraic multigrid (PAMG) method. Ultrafast energy relaxation of Cr(acac)3 dissolved in tetrachloroethylene (TCE) is studied by time-resolved infrared (TRIR) spectroscopy by using electronic and vibrational excitation. After electronic excitation at 400 or 345 nm, the ground state recovers in two time scales: 15 ps (major pathway) and 800 ps (minor pathway), corresponding to fast electronic transition to the ground state and intermediate trapping on the long-lived (2)E state followed by intersystem crossing (ISC) to the ground state. One-pot synthesis and characterization of subnanometre-size benzotriazolate protected copper clusters

A simple one-pot method for the preparation of subnanometre-size benzotriazolate (BTA) protected copper clusters, Cu(n)BTA(m), is reported. The clusters were analyzed by optical and infrared spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and transmission electron microscopy together with computational methods. We suggest a structural motif where the copper core of the Cu(n)BTA(m) clusters is protected by BTA-Cu(i)-BTA units.

The author’s aim is to inspect the position of the fat (female) body in the field of exercise. Specifically, the author is interested in fat women’s experiences of their treatment while exercising in public, and argues that, in particular, public spaces for exercise, such as gyms and swimming pools, are currently discursively and concretely constructed as “exclusive” spaces for the normative bodied. Bodies that are deemed non-normative, such as fat bodies, are often made either invisible or intolerable in the discourse of physical activity and exercise. Perceived Opportunities for Physical Activity and Willingness to Be More Active in Older Adults with Different Physical Activity Levels

This study examined equity in physical activity (PA) by investigating whether perceived opportunity for PA was associated with willingness to be more active. Among community residents (75, 80, or 85 years old, n = 962) perceived opportunity for PA (poor and good), willingness to be more active (not at all, a bit, and a lot), and level of PA (low, moderate, and high) were assessed via questionnaires. Multinomial logistic regression showed that physical activity moderated the association between poor opportunity and willingness to increase PA.
