Age is an important factor in entrepreneurship. The paths into entrepreneurship at a later age may be varied. Self-employment in later life may be either a form of partial retirement or a career option. Older individuals may also be pushed into self-employment. The focus of this paper is on the career choices of older individuals and their background motivations in Finland. The purpose is to analyse the factors and motives in terms of the push and pull dichotomy that lead individuals to enter self-employment at older ages in different types of labour markets in Finland, viz., rural and urban areas. On the Returns to Invention within Firms: Evidence from Finland

International audience; In this paper we merge individual income data, firm-level data, patenting data, and IQ data in Finland over the period 1988–2012 to analyze the returns to invention for inventors and their coworkers or stakeholders within the same firm. We find that: (i) inventors collect only 8 percent of the total private return from invention; (ii) entrepreneurs get over 44 percent of the total gains; (iii) bluecollar workers get about 26 percent of the gains and the rest goes to white-collar workers. Moreover, entrepreneurs start with significant negative returns prior to the patent application, but their returns subsequently become highly positive.

Benedyktyni w Tomaszowie Mazowieckim w latach 1922-1923

W 1919 r. do Polski wrócili benedyktyni, wcześniej usunięci w konsekwencji kasat klasztorów. Po pierwszej, nieudanej próbie odrodzenia klasztoru na Świętym Krzyżu, ojcowie Klemens Dąbrowski (1875-1953) oraz Jozafat Ostrowski (1890-1939) udali się do Tomaszowa Mazowieckiego. Klasztor miał powstać w pałacu rodziny Ostrowskich z inicjatywy matki o. Jozafata, czyli hr. Delfiny z Tyszkiewiczów Ostrowskiej (żona hr. Juliusza Ostrowskiego). Ostrowscy obiecali też pomoc materialną, np. żywność dla mnichów. Przy klasztorze miała funkcjonować szkoła, biblioteka, muzeum.
