SELECTIVE AMPLIFICATION OF NARROW RESONANCE FORMED IN TRANSMISSION SPECTRUM OF Rb NANO-CELL IN MAGNETIC FIELD

Recently it was shown that "λ-Zeeman Technique" (λ-ZT) is a convenient tool to study individual transitions between the Zeeman sublevels of hyperfine levels in an external magnetic field. λ-ZT is based on resonant transmission spectrum of nanometric thin cell (NTC) of thickness L = λ, where λ is the resonant wavelength 794 nm for Rb D1 line. Narrow velocity selective optical pumping (VSOP) resonances in the transmission spectrum of the NTC are split into several components in a magnetic field. Examination of VSOP resonances allows one to identify and investigate an atomic transition in the range of magnetic fields 10 - 5000 G. Study of optical and magneto-optical processes in cesium, rubidium and potassium micro- and nano-metric thin atomic layers

It has been investigated the D1 line transitions of 39K atoms in external magnetic fields using nanocells for the cases of sigma+ and pi polarizations of laser radiation. For the first time it is demonstrated the decoupling of electronic total angular momentum J and nuclear momentum I (complete hyperfine Paschen-Back regime) in external magnetic field. For 39K the decoupling takes place at B >> 165 G. In the case of linear polarization it is shown that for B > 400 G the transmission spectrum consists of 2 groups of transitions and each group contains of one so-called "Guiding transition" (GT). Formation of narrow optical resonances in thin atomic vapor layers of Cs, Rb, K and applications.

This thesis presents the study of coherent light interaction with a sub-wavelength atomic alkali vapor layer confined in a nano-cell and applications for the formation of narrow optical resonances.We develop a theoretical model describing the resonant interaction of the laser light with the thin alkali vapor layer in the presence of an external static magnetic field. We show that due to a transient regime of interaction, only slow atoms contribute to the signal and their transmission spectrum is essentially Doppler-free. Abstract This work is devoted to the investigation of the thermally induced spin-crossover behavior from a high-spin state (HS, S = 3/2) at higher temperatures to a low-spin phase (LS, S = 1/2) at lower temperatures of the six-coordinate cobalt(II) complex in the compound [Co(terpy)2]3[NbO(C2O4)3]2·3CH3OH·4H2O (2). The crystal structure of 2 together with that of its counterion as tetraphenylarsonium(V) salt (AsPh4)3[NbO(C2O4)3]·9H2O (1) are also included. Promocijas darbs veltīts Zēmana koherenču atomu un molekulu elektroniskajos pamatstāvokļos veidošanas un sabrukšanas teorētiskajai un eksperimentālajai izpētei ar nelineārās spektroskopijas metodēm. Pirmkārt, tiek ziņots polarizācijas modulācijas pētījums, ierosinot D1 pārejas ar Cs tvaikiem pildītā šūnā. Otrkārt, izstrādāta spektroskopijas metode magnētiskā lauka stipruma divdimensiju sadalījuma kartēšanai, izmantojot fluorescences sadalījuma reģistrēšanu. Darbā iegūti analītiskie atrisinājumi magnetohidrodinamiskiem (MHD) uzdevumiem par elektrovadoša šķidruma plūsmu plakanā un cilindriskā kanālā stiprā magnētiskā laukā gadījumiem, kad šķidrums ietek kanālos caur galīga platuma spraugu vai caur galīga rādiusa atveri kanāla sānu malā. Pamatojoties uz iegūtajiem atrisinājumiem, veikta plūsmas ātruma lauka skaitliskā analīze. Iegūti uzdevumu asimptotiskie atrisinājumi lieliem Hartmana skaitļiem. Intrinsic spin-orbit interaction in diffusive normal wire Josephson weak links: Supercurrent and density of states

We study the effect of the intrinsic (Rashba or Dresselhaus) spin-orbit interaction in superconductor--nanowire--superconductor (SNS) weak links in the presence of a spin-splitting field that can result either from an intrinsic exchange field or the Zeeman effect of an applied field. We solve the full non-linear Usadel equations numerically and analyze the resulting supercurrent through the weak link and the behavior of the density of states in the center of the wire. We point out how the presence of the spin-orbit interaction gives rise to a long-range spin triplet supercurrent, which remains finite even in the limit of very large exchange fields. 1925. gada jūnijā Baltijas dabaspētnieks Ferdinads Erdmanis Štolls (1874 – 1966) Garciema smilšu kāpās atklāja jaunu sēņu sugu, kam tika dots nosaukums Coprinus dunarum F. E. Stoll, latviski – kāpu tintene. Zinātnieks sēnes fiksēja un detalizēti aprakstīja. Atraduma fotouzņēmumi un akvareļi ir iekļauti viņa vairāk kā 1000 vienību lielajā F. E. Štolla sēņu attēlu kolekcijā, kuru pamatā veido F. E. Štolla zīmētie akvareļi, kas glabājas Latvijas Universitātes muzeja Botānikas un mikoloģijas kolekcijās.
