This paper analyses the effect of regional financial development and bank competition on firms' growth using the Spanish provinces as a testing ground. The results show that firms in industries with a greater dependence on external finance grow faster in more financially developed provinces. The results also show that bank monopoly power has an inverted-‘U’ effect on firms' growth, suggesting that market power has its highest effect at intermediate values. In crisis management, cooperation within the response network is seen as crucial. Usually, this network refers to authorities and nongovernmental organizations, such as the Red Cross. However, the authors argue that to improve societal resilience one should take a broader overview of the actors involved in crisis preparedness and mitigation, and also include the public. Wymuszenie rozbójnicze i rozbiór - analiza znamion czynów zabronionych na tle statystyk sądowych

Artykuł poddaje analizie kontrowersyjne zagadnienie różnic występujących pomiędzy przestępstwem wymuszenia rozbójniczego a rozbojem. W rozważaniach odniesiono się do doktryny oraz orzecznictwa wskazując na liczne wątpliwości pojawiające się w tej materii. Podjęto również próbę wyznaczenia granic jakie dzielą te przestępstwa. W części drugiej odniesiono się do statystyk sądowych obrazujących dynamikę czynu zabronionego wymuszenia rozbójniczego. W szczególności zaprezentowano dane dotyczące liczby przestępstw wszczętych oraz stwierdzonych porównując je również z przestępstwem rozboju. Wskazano nadto liczbę prawomocnych przestępstw z art. 282 k.k. z uwzględnieniem płci oraz wieku sprawców.

Empowering New Agents of Civil Society or Fostering Good Citizens? Framing Youth Participation in Finnish Youth Organizations

ABSTRACTThis article investigates how nationwide Finnish youth civil society organizations frame their approaches to youth participation. By analyzing data from interviews, websites, and annual reports, five frames are identified. The frames differ in how they define the purpose of participation, whom they see as the main actors, and what kind of member, volunteer, or other participant roles they provide to young people. Three frames are used as master frames that see young people as agents, learners, or targets of support; two subordinate frames expand the scopes of the organizations. Only some of the frames include any concept of integrating young people into the civil society.

Celem tego artykułu jest zbadanie i porównanie poglądów Peirce'a i Wittgensteina na naturę znaków. Przeprowadzone badanie pokazuje, że istnieją przynajmniej cztery punkty w powyższej kwestii, co do których Peirce i Wittgenstein pozostają zgodni: triadyczna natura znaków, obecność i szczególna rola w naszych dyskursach znaków zdegenerowanych, rola reguł w konstytuowaniu znaczenia znaków, a także niezbywalna rola społeczności w tworzeniu i podtrzymywaniu procesu semiozy. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot Latvijā apgredzenoto ziemeļu gulbju spalvu maiņas migrācijas aizceļošanas un atceļošanas periodus atkarībā no to vecuma.
