<title>Spin-polarized electron kinetics under high-intensity picosecond excitation</title>
2003
ABSTRACT Spin-polarized electron kinetics is studied by time-resolved polarized photoemission with picosecond resolution. The re-sponse time of strained layer photocathodes is found to be in a range of a few picosecond offering an ultrafast response andhigh spin-polarization of emitted electrons. The studies of the sub-picosecond spin dynamics are facilitated in high-intensityexcitation regime when the length of the emission pulse is enlarged due to the dispersion of acceleration time and Coulombrepulsion ofthe electrons in their flight in the vacuum. Keywords: optical orientation, spin kinetics, strained semiconductor layer, time-resolved emission. 1. Organic Thin-Film Transistors with Enhanced Sensing Capabilities
2009
Organic thin-film transistors, used as sensing devices, have been attracting quite a considerable interest lately as they offer advantages such as multi parameter behaviour and possibility to be quite easily molecularly tuned for the detection of specific analytes. Here, a study on the dependences of the devices responses on important parameters such as the active layer thickness and its morphology as well as on the transistor channel length is presented. To introduce the least number of variables the system chosen for this study is quite a simple and well assessed one being based on a thiophene oligomer active layer exposed to 1-butanol vapours.
Hole transporting materials based on benzodithiophene and dithienopyrrole cores for efficient perovskite solar cells
2018
The development of highly efficient hole transporting materials (HTMs) for perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is still one of the most thrilling research subjects in the development of this emerging photovoltaic technology. Inner ring engineering of the aromatic core of new HTMs – consisting of three fused rings endowed with four triarylamine units – reveals major performance effects over the fabricated devices. In particular, substitution of the central pyrrole ring in dithienopyrrole (DTP) by a benzene ring – benzodithiophene (BDT) – allows enhancing the power conversion efficiency from 15.6% to 18.1%, in devices employing mixed-perovskite (FAPbI3)0.85(MAPbBr3)0.15 (MA: CH3NH3+, FA: NHCHNH3+) …
Integrated InGaAlAs/InP laser-modulator using an identical multiple quantum well active layer
2005
We present experimental results on 40 Gb/s large-signal modulation performance of 1.31 μm monolithic integrated laser-modulator in the InGaAlAs/InP material system, exploiting the gain and absorption properties of an identical multiple quantum well (MQW) active layer. In continuous wave operation, at 15◦ C, the devices achieved threshold currents < 28 mA, fiber coupled optical power levels up to +0.4 dBm. The measured small signal modulation bandwidth was about 32 GHz. An air-cavity based Fabry-Perot interferometer has been realized to characterize the spectral chirp of the integrated structures in the time domain up to 40 Gb/s.
Nitrous oxide fluxes from permafrost regions
2020
This dataset is a synthesis of published nitrous oxide (N2O) fluxes from permafrost-affected soils in Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine permafrost regions. The data includes mean N2O flux rates measured under field (in situ) conditions and in intact plant-soil systems (mesocosms) under near-field conditions. The dataset further includes explanatory environmental parameters such as meteorological data, soil physical-chemical properties, as well as site and experimental information. Data has been synthesized from published studies (see 'Further details'), and in some cases the authors of published studies have been contacted for additional site-level information. The dataset includes studies publ…
Terpyridine-based metallopolymer thin films as active layer in ammonia sensor device
2016
International audience; A metal-containing polymer has been prepared by electropolymerization of an homoleptic Ru(II)-terpyridine complex bearing pyrrole heterocycles. The polymer is obtained as a thinfilm at the surface ofelectrodes, and has been characterized by electrochemical measurements, XPS and microscopy. It hasbeen shown that this polymer acts as an active gas sensitive layer since it enables the detection of anammonia gasflow through layer’s resistivity measurements.
Flash infrared annealing as a cost-effective and low environmental impact processing method for planar perovskite solar cells
2019
Abstract For successful commercialization of perovskite solar cells, straightforward solutions in terms of environmental impact and economic feasibility are still required. Flash Infrared Annealing (FIRA) is a rapid method to fabricate perovskite solar cells with efficiencies >18% on simple, planar architecture, which allows a film synthesis in only 1.2 s, faster than the previous report based in a meso architecture and all of them without the usage of antisolvent. In this work, through a comparative study with the common lab-scale method, the so-called antisolvent (AS), the main photovoltaic parameters and working mechanisms obtained from impedance spectroscopy (IS) measurements show simil…
