4 - 6 gadus vecu bērnu izziņas aktivitātes veicināšana praktiskā darbībā
2017
Bakalaura darba autore: Daila Liekne - Siliņa Zinātniskā darba vadītāja: profesore, dr. paed. Elita Volāne Bakalaura darba temats: „4 – 6 gadus vecu bērnu izziņas aktivitātes veicināšana praktiskā darbībā” Darbā ir izmantota pedagoģisko un psiholoģisko avotu analīze, bērnu vērošana, datu piefiksēšana un to analīze. Bakalaura darba mērķis: pētīt vidējā pirmsskolas vecuma bērnu izziņas aktivitātes sekmēšanas iespējas praktiskā darbībā. Hipotēze: pirmsskolas vecumposma bērnu izziņas aktivitāte izpaužas aktīvāk, ja pedagogs piedāvā praktiskos darbus: 1.Atbilstoši bērnu spējām, vecumposma attīstības īpatnībām, kurus risinot, tiek respektēts bērna viedoklis, redzējums par savu darbu; 2.No dažādie…

An aphasia research agenda–a consensus statement from the collaboration of aphasia trialists
2021
Coordination of international aphasia research would minimise duplication of effort, support synergistic international activities across languages and multidisciplinary perspectives, and promote high-quality conduct and reporting of aphasia research, thereby increasing the relevance, transparency, and implementation of findings. The Collaboration of Aphasia Trialists (CATs) sought to develop an aphasia research agenda to direct future research activities, based on priorities shared by people with aphasia, family members, and healthcare professionals. Our established international research network spanning 33 countries contributed to this activity. Research literature reporting the prioritie…
Maintenance of genetic diversity in cyclic populations—a longitudinal analysis in Myodes glareolus
2012
Conspicuous cyclic changes in population density characterize many populations of small northern rodents. The extreme crashes in individual number are expected to reduce the amount of genetic variation within a population during the crash phases of the population cycle. By long-term monitoring of a bank vole (Myodes glareolus) population, we show that despite the substantial and repetitive crashes in the population size, high heterozygosity is maintained throughout the population cycle. The striking population density fluctuation in fact only slightly reduced the allelic richness of the population during the crash phases. Effective population sizes of vole populations remained also relative…
The role of linguistic and cognitive factors in emotion recognition difficulties in children with ASD, ADHD or DLD
2020
Abstract Background: Many children with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or developmental language disorder (DLD) have difficulty recognizing and understanding emotions. However, the reasons for these difficulties are currently not well understood. Aims: To compare the emotion recognition skills of children with neurodevelopmental disorders as well as those children’s skills with the skills of their typically developing (TD) age peers. Also, to identify the role of underlying factors in predicting emotion recognition skills. Methods & Procedures: The 6–10‐year‐old children (n = 50) who participated in th…

Multidimensional instruments with an integral approach to identify frailty in community-dwelling people: protocol for a systematic psychometric review
2019
IntroductionAn increasing number of investigations highlight the complex nature of frailty; therefore, the use of multidimensional assessment instruments could be useful in clinical decision-making. Frail people are found mainly in the community setting which is why this is the ideal environment for early screening and intervention. For this purpose, it is necessary to have valid, time-effective and easy-to-use frailty assessment instruments. The aim of this review is to critically appraise, compare and summarise the quality of the measurement properties of all multidimensional instruments with an integral approach to identify frailty in community-dwelling people. Methods and analysisMedline…
The Scales of Psychological Well-Being – a validation, usability and test–retest study among community-dwelling older people in Finland
2020
Objectives: To validate the Finnish version of the 42-item Scales of Psychological Well-Being among community-dwelling older people. The study also examined the test–retest reliability and usability, i.e. user experience, of the scales in this age group. Method: The 42-item version of the SPWB was administered as part of a face-to-face interview among 968 men and women aged 75, 80 or 85 years. The subsample for test–retest analyses comprised 42 participants, who in addition to 11 interviewers also answered questions concerning the usability of the scales. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, Cronbach’s alpha coefficients, Pearson and intra-class correlation coefficients, and Kendal…
Reported prevalence of health conditions that affect drivers
2017
Drivers’ health and fitness are essential factors in order to predict performance outcomes and to promote road safety. It is a demonstrated fact that drivers with (physical and mental) health impairments or illnesses have more probabilities of being involved in traffic crashes and suffering (or causing) several injuries. The general objective of this study was to examine the prevalence of adverse health conditions that may affect Spanish drivers and its perceived impact on driving fitness. It was used a sample of 1,200 Spanish drivers (666 men and 534 women). The only selection criteria were to be in possession of any type of driving license for vehicles other than motorcycles and to drive …
Psykoterapeutin henkilökohtaisten ominaisuuksien merkitys psykoterapiassa ja niiden vaikutus tuloksellisuuteen identiteettihaastattelun perusteella
2018
The purpose of my study was to use the Psychotherapist Identity Interview (PII) method, developed for this study and based on Erik H. Erikson's and Heinz Kohut's theories, to examine the significance of the personal characteristics of psychotherapists for psychotherapy, and their effect on treatment results. The study described the theoretical background and development of the interview method and the validation of the instrument. The study involved 68 contract therapists from the Helsinki Psychotherapy Study and 333 patients, of whom 65 therapists and 308 patients were included in the as-sessment of benefit from therapy. Videotaped, semistructured therapist interviews were assessed using 1…
