The yield of essential oils in plants is not high and postdistillation wastes rich in phenolic compounds could be used to enhance the profitability of essential oil-bearing plants. The aim of the study was to evaluate polyphenols in a dry extract obtained from the postdistillation waste of the American basil (Ocimum americanum L.) herb, and to conduct the screening of its pharmacological activities. Rosmarinic acid, caffeic acid and rutin were identified in the extract using high-performance thin-layer chromatography. BACKGROUND: The aim of the study was to evaluate the achievement of 'no evidence of disease activity' (NEDA) over a 12-month period in a large multicenter population with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) treated with delayed-release dimethyl fumarate (DMF) and teriflunomide (TRF) using a propensity-score adjustment. METHODS: A time-to-event method was used to determine the percentages of patients with RRMS (pwRRMS) in both groups achieving NEDA 3 (no relapses, no 12-week confirmed disability progression, and no new T2/gadolinium-enhancing brain lesions). In midlife, women experience hormonal changes due to menopausal transition. A decrease especially in estradiol has been hypothesized to cause loss of muscle mass. This study investigated the effect of menopausal transition on changes in lean and muscle mass, from the total body to the muscle fiber level, among 47–55-year-old women. Mūsdienu klasēs, daudzi pedagogi saskaras ar „ārpus kontroles bērniem”. Bērniem, kuriem ir uzmanības deficīts vai hiperaktivitātes sindroms (turpmāk tekstā UDHS), ir neiroloģiski traucējumi, kas ietekmē viņu spēju kontrolēt savu uzvedību un pievērst uzmanību uzdevumiem. Bērni ar UDHS rada īpašu iedzīvotāju grupu ar dažādām vajadzībām izglītības vidē. Izpētītajā pētījumā, tika pievērsta uzmanība uzmanības deficīta un hiperaktivitātes traucējumiem.
