Parenting Styles and Aggressive Adolescents: Relationships with Self-esteem and Personal Maladjustment
2019
ABSTRACT Current emergent studies are seriously questioning if parental strictness contributes to adolescent adjustment. This study examined whether the relationship between authoritative (warmth and strictness), authoritarian (strictness without warmth), indulgent (warmth without strictness), and neglectful (neither warmth nor strictness) parenting styles shows equal or different pattern of adjustment and maladjustment for aggressive and non-aggressive adolescents. The sample consisted of 969 Spanish adolescents, 554 females (57.2%) and 415 males, ranging from 12 to 17 years old. Families were classified into one of four typologies by their scores on warmth and strictness, and the adolesce…

Hiperinfección por Strongyloides stercoralis
2010
Delayed brain reexpansion in schizophrenic patient affected by trabecular type chronic subdural hematoma
2021
Background: Chronic subdural hematoma (cSDH) represents a complex and unpredictable disease, characterized by high morbidity and mortality, especially in elderly patients. Factors affecting the postoperative brain reexpansion along to cSDH recurrence have not been yet adequately investigated. The authors presented the case of a schizophrenic patient affected by trabecular type cSDH that presented a delayed brain reexpansion despite a craniotomy and membranotomy. Case Description: A 51-year-old female patient with diagnosis of schizophrenia was admitted to the emergency department with GCS score of 5/15 and right anisocoria. An urgent brain CT revealed a trabecular right cSDH (35 mm in maxi…

Method: We systematically searched major electronic databases from inception till 03/2015. Articles were included that reported the prevalence of bipolar disorder determined in line with structured clinical assessment in primary care settings. Two independent authors conducted searches, completed methodological appraisal and extracted data. A random effects meta-analysis and meta-regression were performed. …
Maternal sleep duration and neonate birth weight: A population-based cohort study.
2021
Objective Sleep duration is an important health indicator. Our aim was to investigate the association between maternal sleep duration and infant birthweight. Methods The study included 2,536 mother-infant pairs of a Spanish birth cohort (2004-2006, INMA project). The exposures were questionnaire-based measures of sleep duration before and during pregnancy. The primary outcome was infant birthweight score (g) standardized to 40 weeks of gestation. Results In women sleeping less than 7 hours per day before pregnancy, each additional hour of sleep increased birthweight score by 44.7 g (p = 0.049) in the minimally-adjusted model, although findings were not statistically significant after consid…

Methods A multicenter, cross-sectional study was performed in 2018 in 14 Italian Universities (3,131 students were interviewed). A validated questionnaire was used to assess knowledge, attitudes, and opinions toward v…
