Olive oil intake and risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality in the PREDIMED Study

[Background] It is unknown whether individuals at high cardiovascular risk sustain a benefit in cardiovascular disease from increased olive oil consumption. The aim was to assess the association between total olive oil intake, its varieties (extra virgin and common olive oil) and the risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality in a Mediterranean population at high cardiovascular risk.

Friedrich Schiller’s tragedy, "Braut von Messina", being a project of a new tragedy form and the plot structure modelled on the mythic story of Oedipus’s family, is usually placed in the developmental seąuence of the genres of Schicksalstragodie and Jambentragodie. Yet, the ostentatious condensation and muddling of the motives of the Oedipus myth in the plot calls for the use of the chronologically close categories of romantic irony and romantic myth-making, and subseąuently, for asking a ąuestion concerning the intention of establishing the mythical world by means of a ritual performed with the use of theatrical measures.

Cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) is an established risk factor for cardiovascular disease outcomes. However, the relationship of CRF with risk of ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) is unknown. We aimed to assess the prospective association of CRF with the risk of serious VAs. Cardiorespiratory fitness, as measured by maximal oxygen uptake, was assessed using a respiratory gas exchange analyzer in 2299 middle-aged men in the Kuopio Ischemic Heart Disease prospective cohort. We corrected for within-person variability in CRF levels using data from repeated measurements 11 years apart. The aim of this study is to investigate the presence of condylar and ramal asymmetry in patients with a cyst larger than 10 mm in the maxilla or mandible. Condylar and ramal asymmetry index measurements of 47 patients (mean age: 28.85 ± 15.348) in the study group and 40 patients in the control group (mean age: 33.73 ± 13.095) were performed using panoramic radiographs.
