Synergistic Platelet Inhibitory Effect of the Phosphodiesterase Inhibitor Piroximone and Iloprost
1992
Platelet activity is regulated through synthesis and degradation of the intracellular second messengers cAMP or cGMP. The antiplatelet effect of the phosphodiesterase (PDE) III inhibitor Piroximone (PIR) was studied in vitro in platelet rich plasma. ADP induced aggregation was inhibited by PIR with an IC50 of 67 +/- 43 microM. The inhibitory effect was time and dose dependent. The antiaggregatory effects in vivo were studied in anaesthetised rats. Reduction of platelet count following injection of 100 micrograms/kg bw collagen was measured after bolus injection of PIR and vehicle. Piroximone bolus 2 mg/kg bw resulted in a 50% inhibition of platelet aggregation in rats. Cyclic AMP levels in …
Sentiment Across Asset Markets
2018
In this paper, we study investor sentiment in five major asset markets: stocks, bonds, commodities, currencies, and housing. Based on Thomson Reuter's sentiment measures extracted from 235 news and social media sources, we find that each market is predicted by its own sentiment. Cross-markets, kitchen sink regressions reveal that the stock market is influenced only by bond sentiment, while bond market is affected just by currency market, which is largely unexplained by others; the commodities are related to currencies and housing, and housing can be predicted by stock and bond sentiment. In an efficient information aggregation by the partial least square (PLS), the predictability of each ma…
An Efficient and Secure Multidimensional Data Aggregation for Fog-Computing-Based Smart Grid
2021
International audience; The secure multidimensional data aggregation (MDA) has been widely investigated in smart grid for smart cities. However, previous proposals use heavy computation operations either to encrypt or to decrypt the multidimensional data. Moreover, previous fault-tolerant mechanisms lead to an important computation cost, and also a high communication cost when considering a separate identification phase. In this article, we propose an efficient and secure MDA scheme, named ESMA. Unlike existing schemes, the multidimensional data in ESMA are structured and encrypted into a single Paillier ciphertext and thereafter, the data are efficiently decrypted. For privacy preserving, …
Physico-chimie des lipopolysaccharides et réponse inflammatoire : rôle des lipoprotéines
2014
LPS is a potent bacterial pro-inflammatory agent, consisting of hydrophilic, polysaccharide part and of a lipid A which is considered like active moiety. Nevertheless, the O chain of LPS influences their aggregation in aqueous media. Therefore, our goal has been to determine the role of O chain on the LPS biological and physiopathological effects. Our work was organized according to three main axes, and led to the following findings :- development of a new LPS assay by LC-MS/MS. The combination of this new technique with LAL test allowed us to calculate an inactivation ratio which reflects the ability of host organism to inactivate LPS, especially through their transfer to HDL by PLTP. The …
Interfacial Self-Assembly of Water-Soluble Cationic Porphyrins for the Reduction of Oxygen to Water
2012
Meet at the border: Assembly of the water-soluble cobalt tetrakis(N-methylpyridinium-4-yl)porphyrin [CoTMPyP]4+ at soft interfaces is enhanced and stabilized by its interfacial interaction with the lipophilic anion (C6F5)4B−. The supramolecular structure thus formed (see picture) provides excellent catalytic activity in the four-electron reduction of oxygen.
Aggregation in Input–Output Tables: How to Select the Best Cluster Linkage
1991
In this paper we try to give a solution to the aggregation problem on working with Input–Output tables. First of all we verify the degree of similarity among the production functions of the industries which aggregate in each sector. Secondly, once we have established the aggregation by using different cluster analysis, we set a number of conditions required to choose the proper linkage method that allows us to characterize the process of aggregation (weighted or unweighted) of the input–output table.
A data aggregation strategy based on wavelet for the internet of things
2017
The advent of emerging information and communication technologies, such as RFID, small size sensors and sensor networks, has made accessible a huge amount of information that requires sophisticated and efficient search algorithms to support queries on that data. In this paper we focus on the problem of aggregating data collected from these devices to efficiently support queries, inferences or statistics on them. In general, data aggregation techniques are necessary to efficiently collect information in a compact and cost-effective way. Some current solutions try to meet the above criteria, by exploiting different data aggregation techniques, for instance BitVector or Q_Digest. In this manus…
Collision induced fragmentations of multiply charged sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl)-sulfosuccinate aggregates in gas phase: neutral loss versus charge sepa…
2016
Abstract Stability and fragmentation patterns of multicharged aggregates of sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl)-sulfosuccinate (NaAOT) in gas phase have been investigated by ion mobility mass spectrometry (IM-MS) and tandem mass spectrometry (MS-MS). Positively doubly charged NaAOT aggregates show at low collision energy a preference for the loss of NaAOT molecules, whereas fragmentation through charge separation process is favored at higher collision energy. By increasing the charge state of the aggregates, the fragmentation through charge separation tends to predominate especially at low aggregation number and only charge separation fragmentation is observed for positively quadruply charged species.…
Cultivation of primmorphs from the marine sponge Suberites domuncula: morphogenetic potential of silicon and iron.
2002
Abstract Marine demosponges (phylum Porifera) are rich sources for potent bioactive compounds. With the establishment of the primmorph system from sponges, especially from Suberites domuncula , the technology to cultivate sponge cells in vitro improved considerably. This progress was possible after the elucidation that sponges are provided with characteristic metazoan cell adhesion receptors and extracellular matrix molecules which allow their cells a positioning in a complex organization pattern. This review summarizes recent data on the cultivation of sponges in aquaria and—with main emphasis—of primmorphs in vitro. It is outlined that silicon and Fe(+++) contribute substantially to the f…
On some flaws of university rankings: The example of the SCImago report
2012
International audience; Using France as our main example, we show there is a much scope for improving the SCImago ranking. We detect problems of nomenclature, double affiliation, aggregation and of bias toward large public-funded research organizations. The output per scholar is more important than the output per organization. The examples we cite suggest that only detailed knowledge of the situation can help in addressing the issue and take us beyond any automatic reading of the metadata.
