Structure-property relationships in aromatic thioethers featuring aggregation-induced emission : Solid-state structures and theoretical analysis

We describe in this paper a structure–property relationship study of aromatic thioethers with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties. We combine a structural analysis based on geometrical consideration with an in-depth analysis of the crystalline packing supported by quantum mechanical calculations. Our results allow us to correlate the enhanced fluorescence quantum yields with the significant increase of C–H⋯π and the decrease of π⋯π interactions in the solid state – a result which supports the well-accepted AIE mechanism quantitatively.

International audience; Tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL or Apo2L) is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. This type II transmembrane protein is able to bound specifically to cancer cell receptors (i.e., TRAIL-R1 (or DR4) and TRAIL-R2 (or DR5)) and to induce apoptosis without being toxic for healthy cells. Involving fuzzy orders for multi-objective linear programming

This paper presents a solution approach for multi-objective linear programming problem. We propose to involve fuzzy order relations to describe the objective functions where in ”classical” fuzzy approach the membership functions which illustrate how far the concrete point is from the solution of individual problem are studied. Further the global fuzzy order relation is constructed by aggregating the individual fuzzy order relations. Thus the global fuzzy relation contains the information about all objective functions and in the last step we find a maximum in the set of constrains with respect to the global fuzzy order relation. We illustrate this approach by an example.
A choice of bilevel linear programming solving parameters: factoraggregation approach

Our paper deals with the problem of choosing correct parameters for the bilevel linear program- ming solving algorithm proposed by M. Sakawa and I. Nishizaki. We suggest an approach based on fac- toraggregation, which is a specially designed general aggregation operator. The idea of factoraggregation arises from factorization by the equivalence relation generated by the upper level objective function. Greedy versus Dynamic Channel Aggregation Strategy in CRNs: Markov Models and Performance Evaluation

Part 1: - PE-CRN 2011 Workshop; International audience; In cognitive radio networks, channel aggregation techniques which aggregate several channels together as one channel have been proposed in many MAC protocols. In this paper, we consider elastic data traffic and spectrum adaptation for channel aggregation, and propose two new strategies named as Greedy and Dynamic respectively. The performance of channel aggregation represented by these strategies is evaluated using continuous time Markov chain models. Moreover, simulation results based on various traffic distributions are utilized in order to evaluate the validity and preciseness of the mathematical models.

ABSTRACT Background SARS-CoV-2 is continuously disseminating worldwide. The development of strategies to break transmission is mandatory. Aim of the study To investigate the potential of cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) as a viral inhibitor. Methods SARS-CoV-2 Virus Like-Particles (VLPs) were incubated with CPC, a potent surfactant routinely included in mouthwash preparations. Results Concentrations of 0.05% CPC (w/v) commonly used in mouthwash preparations are sufficient to promote the rupture of SARS-CoV-2 VLP membranes. Conclusion Including CPC in mouthwashes could be a prophylactic strategy to keep SARS-CoV-2 from spreading.

Background: Epidural steroid injection (ESI) is a common practice for pain treatment since 1953. In 2014, the FDA issued a warning about ESI. Studies have focused on the effect of the particle size and their ability to generate harmful aggregates.
