This study investigated HIV/AIDS education in two secondary schools in Ghana comparing students’ knowledge, attitude and behaviour. Furthermore, this study investigated students most trusted source of HIV/AIDS knowledge, how students see the disease against other diseases and how HIV education is grounded in the schools curricular. In all, 283 students were involved in the survey. Their ages were between 12 and 25. The findings established that student’s knowledge on how to avoid the disease, mode of transmission, and prevention were very high. Artikkelissa tarkastellaan etnologian keinoin miksi Tansanian nuoriso harjoittaa korkean hivtartuntariskin omaavia seksuaalisia käytänteitä. Tutkimus perustuu Tansanian suurimmassa kaupungissa Dar es Salaamissa tehtyihin 128 teemahaastatteluun. Pētījuma iekļauti pacienti, stacionēti akūti VSIA “Traumatoloģijas un ortopēdijas slimnīcā” ar S72.1 un S72.2 diagnozi pēc SSK-10 laika posmā no 2014.gada septembra līdz 2015.gada decembrim osteosintēzes operācijai. Analizējamie dati: no stacionāra kartes – dzimums, vecums, ASA klase, diagnoze, stacionēšanas datums un laiks, operācijas datums, laiks un ilgums, izvēlēta fiskācija (implants) operācijas laikā, no Ārstu Biroja – miršanas datums. Accurate estimation of retinal vessel width using bagged decision trees and an extended multiresolution Hermite model.

We present an algorithm estimating the width of retinal vessels in fundus camera images. The algorithm uses a novel parametric surface model of the cross-sectional intensities of vessels, and ensembles of bagged decision trees to estimate the local width from the parameters of the best-fit surface. We report comparative tests with REVIEW, currently the public database of reference for retinal width estimation, containing 16 images with 193 annotated vessel segments and 5066 profile points annotated manually by three independent experts.
