Análisis de las calificaciones compartidas en la modalidad participativa de la evaluación colaborativa entre docente y estudiantes

2020

Current trends in educational assessment in different branches of higher education share the common goal of uniting learning with assessment. Most approaches and theoretical and practical developments in this field revolve around four main factors: feedback, democratization, alignment and relevance. This paper proposes the use of co-assessment as a means of ensuring dialogue-based, democratic and fairer evaluations. With co-assessment, the responsibility is shared by the teacher and the students, who negotiate and agree on the appraisal of student tasks and, in this paper, also on the awarded mark. The aim of this study is to analyse the relationship between a series of jointly agreed marks…

Chemical composition and biological activity of Salvia verbenaca essential oil

2011

Salvia verbenaca L. (syn. S. minore) is a perennial herb known in the traditional medicine of Sicily as “spaccapetri” and is used to resolve cases of kidney stones, chewing the fresh leaves or in decoction. The chemical composition of the essential oil obtained from aerial parts of S. verbenaca collected in Piano Battaglia (Sicily) on July 2009, was analyzed by GC and GC-MS. The oil was strongly characterized by fatty acids (39.5%) and carbonylic compounds (21.2%), with hexadecanoic acid (23.1%), ( Z)-9-octadecenoic acid (11.1%) and benzaldehyde (7.3%) as the main constituents. The in vitro activity of the essential oil against some microorganisms in comparison with chloramphenicol by the …

DEEP EUTECTIC SOLVENTS E LIQUIDI IONICI: SOLVENTI PER LO SVILUPPO DI PROCESSI ECO-COMPATIBILI

2020

Transfection analysis of expression of mRNA isoforms encoding the nuclear autoantigen La/SS-B

1997

Transcription of the gene encoding for the nuclear autoantigen La resulted in La mRNA isoforms. A promoter switching combined with an alternative splicing pathway replaced the exon 1 with the exon 1'. The exon 1' contained GC-rich regions and an oligo(U) tail of 23 uridine residues. Moreover, it encoded for three open reading frames upstream of the La protein reading frame. Despite this unusual structure, when exon 1' La mRNAs were expressed in transfected cells, both exon 1 and 1' La mRNAs were translated to La protein, whereas the upstream open reading frames of the exon 1' were not translated. In addition to full-length exon 1' La mRNAs 5'-shortened exon 1' La mRNAs were detected. The ex…

In vitro synthesis of factor B of the alternative pathway of complement activation by mouse peritoneal macrophages

1976

Factor B of the alternative pathway of complement activation was shown to be synthesized and secreted by unstimulated mouse peritoneal macrophages. The activity of B in the culture supernatants from macrophage monolayers was detected by consumption of C3 in reaction mixtures containing supernatant and guinea pig factors C3, D and insoluble C3b. Using a monospecific antiserum, factor B in concentrated culture supernatants was shown by immunodiffusion and immunoelectrophoresis to be identical to factor B in mouse plasma and to form a characteristic complex with cobra venom factor in the presence of D. A steady rate of factor B secretion was observed for 4 days providing the medium was changed…

Akupunktur und körperliche Leistungsfähigkeit – Der Einfluss der Nadelung einzelner Akupunkturpunkte auf Parameter der Fahrrad-Spiroergometrie

2004

Biological properties of carotenoids extracted from Halobacterium halobium isolated from a Tunisian solar saltern

2013

Abstract Background Bioactive molecules have received increasing attention due to their nutraceutical attributes and anticancer, antioxidant, antiproliferative and apoptosis-inducing properties. This study aimed to investigate the biological properties of carotenoids extracted from Archaea. Methods Halophilic Archaea strains were isolated from the brine of a local crystallizer pond (TS7) of a solar saltern at Sfax, Tunisia. The most carotenoid-producing strain (M8) was investigated on heptoma cell line (HepG2), and its viability was assessed by the MTT-test. The cells were incubated with different sub-lethal extract rates, with carotenoid concentrations ranging from 0.2 to 1.5 μM. Antioxida…

Herbalists, traditional healers and pharmacists: a view of the tuberculosis in Ghana

2014

This paper is the result of a visit by Brazilian researchers to Ghana, with the aim of improving understanding of the relationship between traditional healers and conventional health practices, specifically in relation to tuberculosis. Through this exploratory visit, this group of researchers promoted by the Edital Pro Africa (CNPq) had an opportunity to learn about, reflect on, and discuss the different social, economic and cultural realities and contexts that have led to the different health conditions and forms of healthcare in Ghana. Besides the direct relationship between the social and economic conditions of the country and the health of its population, it was also concluded that ther…
