Comment améliorer l'enseignement ? Considérations à partir de Bryk, A. , 2015, Accelerating how we learn to improve

2017

2014

As in nearly all countries, educational authorities in Syria have concerns about improving the quality of education and about there forms they seek to implement to give teachers the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills before and once they start teaching, especially in the context of economic and social change of the magnitude the world lives today. The complexity of the educational context has led the Syrian educational authorities to pay particular attention to programs for initial and continuous training of teachers. To assess the effectiveness of continuous training programs that currently exist in Syria, this thesis has set as its objective to analyze the impact of these pro…

Optimization and Improvement of a Novel HVOF Process Fueled with Ethanol

2022

The high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spray has become a process of choice for producing high performance cermet or alloy coatings. Common HVOF thermal spray systems classically use the combustion of gases, such as hydrogen, propane or a liquid fuel such as kerosene. However, there is currently a limited amount of literature on the use of ethanol as a fuel within HVOF processes and the performances of the resulting coatings are not well documented. Ethanol benefits from environmentally friendly features and is less polluting compared to conventional fossil liquid fuels (i.e. kerosene) as its combustion generates less nitrogen oxides and soot particles. In this work, we decide to investigate suc…

Vehicle localization based on scene perception

2021

The vision-based vehicle localization task is tackled as an image-based place recognition problem in this thesis. As image representation is an important process to place recognition, we proposed place recognition methods focusing on increasing the quality of image features. First, the dynamic object removal step is proposed to remove the dynamic objects, such as vehicles and pedestrians, of an image by semantic segmentation method and restore their background information by image inpainting method. Second, reducing instead of removing the noisy information of an image is proposed. Using the image blurring method to reduce the image noise, the performance of place recognition is improved wi…

Ploidy manipulation and citrus breeding, genetics and genomics

2020

Polyploidy appears to have played a limited role in citrus germplasm evolution. However, today, ploidy manipulation is an important component of citrus breeding strategies. For varieties, the main objective is to develop triploid seedless cultivars. For rootstock, the aim is to cumulate interesting traits in tetraploid hybrids and to improve adaptation to biotic and abiotic stresses. This chapter starts with a review of the recent knowledge acquired on the natural mechanisms of citrus polyploidization and tetraploid meiosis. Chromosome doubling of nucellar cells is frequent in apomictic citrus and results in tetraploid seedling production. Unreduced gametes are also frequently produced, mai…

2010

Despite considerable efforts which have been undertaken, Madagascar's primary education is facing major management problems which severely limit the chances of success of ongoing reforms and outcomes. The initiative, Improving Education Management in Madagascar (AGEMAD), attempts to address these issues. Before generalizing about this management system of the whole sector, the Ministry of Education wanted to assess the impact of implementing the initiative AGEMAD on the behavior of actors (teachers, principals, administrators, etc.) and student performance. To accomplish this, a large-scale experiment was designed and implemented. It monitored arrangements to assess the impact of different …
