Clinical and radiological course in apicoectomies with the Erbium : YAG LASER

A study is made of the efficacy of the Erbium: YAG laser in granulomatous periapical lesions, based on clinical and radiographic controls. The study comprised a series of 45 patients amenable to periapical surgical treatment of incisors, canines and premolars. A conventional surgical technique was used, with silver amalgam retrograde filling and irradiation of the bone defect and remnant root cement with the Erbium: YAG laser. Clinical and radiographic controls were made during 24 months, assessing the absence of symptoms and the presence of pain, swelling or fistula and ossification of the lesions, respectively. Melanoacanthoma is a blackened mucocutaneous lesion, mainly affecting individuals with dark skin and exhibiting rapid development. Differential diagnosis includes nevus, amalgam tattoo and melanoma. This article reports a case of a 53-year-old white woman, who exhibited multiple blackened lesions on the gingiva and upper lip. After incisional biopsy, the presence of numerous melanin-containing dendritic cells distributed throughout the epithelial thickness, which were S-100 (+), were observed microscopically. Abstract Objective: We sought to examine the clinical conditions under which 25 endodontically treated teeth underwent vertical root fracture (VRF) and to relate this condition to the time elapsed from endodontic treatment to fracture. Objectives: Satisfactory bonding of orthodontic attachments to amalgam is a challenge for orthodontists. The aim of this in vitro study was to compare the shear bond strength of stainless steel orthodontic brackets to silver amalgam treated with sandblasting and Er,Cr:YSGG laser. In an effort to learn more about the general structure-activity relationships of cocaine with the aim to elucidate those structural features that might confer antagonistic properties to such analogues, we describe herein our synthetic efforts to prepare two-carbon bridge functionalized (methoxylated and hydroxylated) analogues. Es werden die Faktoren ermittelt, welche die Stereochemie und das Mengenverhaltnis (C/P) des bei der Reduktion von Acetophenon mit Lithium-, Natrium- und Kaliumamalgam (Li/Hg, Na/Hg, K/Hg) gebildeten Carbinols (C) und Pinakols (P) bestimmen. Das C/P-Verhaltnis wird beeinflust a) durch Protonendonatoren, b) durch quartaren Ammoniumsalze, c) durch bis-tertiare Amine.
