Subgingival colonization by Candida albicans has been described in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected individuals, but subgingival isolates have scarcely been characterized, particularly with respect to genotype and antifungal susceptibility. Abstract Tumor growth in the context of EGFR inhibitor resistance may remain EGFR-dependent and is mediated by mechanisms including compensatory ligand upregulation and de novo gene alterations. Sym004 is a two-antibody mixture targeting nonoverlapping EGFR epitopes. As a part of a research project on the health and functional capacity of men at different ages a comparison of selected physiological and psychological characteristics of myopic and non-myopic 31–35 year-old men was made. The random sample studied consisted of 31 myopic and 100 non-myopic men. It was found that the body mass index and fat content were lower among the myopic than among the non-myopic. No significant differences were found in the elastic properties of skin, in blood pressure or in haematological assays studied between the groups. The General Self Efficacy Scale (GSES-12) is a short version of the Sherer’s Self-Efficacy Scale, and evaluates a general dimension and three aspects of self-efficacy: initiative, persistence and effort. The aim of this study is to explore the factorial structure, reliability, and criterion validity of the Spanish adaptation of the GSES-12 in general and clinical populations. Abstract Objective Somatosensory amplification refers to a person's tendency to experience somatic sensations as inappropriately intense and involves hypervigilance concerning bodily sensations. We applied the Somatosensory Amplification Scale (SSAS) in an Internet sample of young adults (N = 3031) to test whether the SSAS is Rasch scalable. A replication study on P300 single trial analysis in schizophrenia: confirmation of a reduced number of 'true positive' P300 waves.

A single trial analysis of event-related potentials (auditory odd-ball paradigm) of 20 schizophrenics was performed in comparison to matched healthy controls. The purpose of the study was to test the hypothesis that in schizophrenia the well-known P300 amplitude reduction of averaged event-related potentials is due to fewer elicited single trial P300 waves. The results of the present study support this finding of our previous exploratory investigation and point to the view that schizophrenics reveal basal disturbances in information processing due to inadequately elicited electrophysiological responses to target stimuli.
