National-Level Wealth Inequality and Socioeconomic Inequality in Adolescent Mental Well-Being: A Time Series Analysis of 17 Countries

Purpose: Although previous research has established a positive association between national income inequality and socioeconomic inequalities in adolescent health, very little is known about the extent to which national-level wealth inequalities (i.e., accumulated financial resources) are associated with these inequalities in health. Tutkimus tarkastelee Helsingin Sanomissa vuosien 2008 ja 2013 välillä julkaistuja työttömien mielipidekirjoituksia. Tutkimustehtävänä on ymmärtää millaisia sosiokulttuurisia merkityksiä ja arvoja työlle ja työttömyydelle annetaan. Keskeisinä tutkimuskäsitteinä toimivat työ ja työttömyys, jotka määritellään laajasti aiempaa tutkimuskirjallisuutta hyödyntäen. Tutkimuksen metodologia pohjaa diskurssianalyysiin. Diskurssianalyysin avulla luokittelen tutkimusaineiston diskursseiksi, joita tarkastelen tutkimuksen analyysivaiheessa. Faced with intensifying competition for scientific impact measured in terms of citation counts, small disciplines are challenged to prove their importance as they lack the critical mass to accumulate large numbers of citations. This paper demonstrates that by emphasizing theoretical and methodological rigor even small disciplines such as business history can be competitive. Yet it still appears that readers of business history articles first and foremost seek interesting and useful subject matter, i.e. ‘best’ stories that can be used as background information and as tools in comparisons. Using superordinate intersectionality as a theoretical framework, this article explores notions of men and masculinities within right wing populism. It is attentive to how the right-wing populist media in Finland and Sweden construct white Nordic masculinities through discursive interactions across several axes of difference: gender (masculinities); sexuality (heterosexuality); social class (elites); and race (whitenesses). This article focuses on the use of terms and concepts related to the nationalist movements by the Finnish security police during the Cold War. The key objective of the security police was to protect the legal order of the state and monitor the groups and phenomena potentially harmful to that cause. The previous experience regarding the rise of the radical nationalism and fascism in Finland in the 1930s and the 1947 Paris peace treaties were the historical and legal contexts within which the interpretations were made. Purpose The authors focus on “writing women into ‘history’” in this study, embracing the notion of cisgender and ethnicity in relation to the “historic turn”. As such, the authors bring forward the stories of the US Pan American Airway’s Guided Missile Range Division (GMRD) and the White women who worked there. Tämä teksti esittelee tutkimustani, joka tarkastelee länsimaisen esittävän taiteilijan yleisöpuhetta eli sitä tapaa, jolla taiteilija puhuu yleisöstään. Aineistonani on viisi vuonna 2009 tekemääni taiteilijahaastattelua. Hyödynnän aineiston tarkastelussa diskurssianalyysin menetelmää, jonka tavoitteena on käsitys siitä, miten kielessä ja puheessa tuotetaan todellisuutta. Jotta ymmärtäisin 2000-luvulla toimivaa taiteilijaa ja sitä, miten hän puhuu yleisöstään, koen välttämättömäksi nostaa esiin ne lainalaisuudet, jotka ensisijaisesti vaikuttavat taiteilijan työskentelyyn yleisön parissa.
