Information entropy-based classification of triterpenoids and steroids from Ganoderma

Abstract A set of 71 triterpenoid and steroid compounds from Ganoderma were periodically classified using a procedure based on information entropy with artificial intelligence. Six features were used in hierarchical order to classify the triterpenoids and steroids structurally. The phytochemicals belonging to the same group in the periodic table present similar antioxidant activity, and those compounds belonging to the same period exhibit maximum resemblance. Spectroscopic response of a CdZnTe multiple electrode detector

Abstract The spectroscopic performances of a CdZnTe detector (crystal size: 5×5×0.9 mm 3 ) with five electrodes (cathode, anode and three steering electrodes) were studied. The anode layout, which consists of a circular electrode ( φ =80 μm) surrounded by two ring electrodes (gap=100 μm; radial width Δ r =100 μm) and by one electrode that extends to the edge of the crystal, is mostly sensitive to the electron carriers, overcoming the well known effect of the hole trapping in the measured spectra. Abstract The DIRC detectors of the PANDA experiment at FAIR will use multi-anode MCP-PMTs as photon sensors. After long and extensive R&D work the performance parameters of the recent 2” MCP-PMT models are converging towards the required values. The lifetime of most ALD-coated MCP-PMTs is well surpassing the DIRC requirements with the best tube currently reaching > 22 C/cm2 integrated anode charge without aging. The performance of the most advanced MCP-PMTs from PHOTONIS and Hamamatsu fulfill basically all requirements with a highlight being the high detective quantum efficiency (DQE) of almost 30% for the PHOTONIS 9002108. Abstract In our present work we developed a novel graphene wrapping approach of Ni@Fe2O3 superparticles, which can be extended as a concept approach for other nanomaterials as well. It uses sulfonated reduced graphene oxide, but avoids thermal treatments and use of toxic agents like hydrazine for its reduction. The modification of graphene oxide is achieved by the introduction of sulfate groups accompanied with reduction and elimination reactions, due to the treatment with oleum. Abstract Microchannel plate (MCP) PMTs are very attractive photon sensors for low light level applications in strong magnetic fields. However, until recently the main drawback of MCP-PMTs was their aging behavior which manifests itself in a limited lifetime due to a rapidly decreasing quantum efficiency (QE) of the photo cathode (PC) as the integrated anode charge (IAC) increases. In the latest models of PHOTONIS, Hamamatsu, and BINP novel techniques are applied to avoid these aging effects which are supposed to be mainly caused by feedback ion impinging on the PC and damaging it. Abstract The electrochemical incineration of oxalic acid (OA) at Ti/IrO2–Ta2O5 (DSA-O2) anode was investigated to find the influence of the operative parameters on the performances of the process. Polarization curves and chronoamperometric measurements indicate the probable occurrence of a direct electrochemical oxidation of OA at the surface of the DSA anode. In incineration electrolyses, the performances of the process in terms of OA conversion and current efficiency dramatically depend on the adopted operative conditions. Material and methods We carried out a search in the Medline, Scopus, WoS and Embase databases from the start of the databases to December 2020, and also made a manual search of the references. Recently, CdZnTe (CZT) detectors have been widely proposed and developed for room-temperature X-ray spectroscopy even at high fluxes, and great efforts have been made on both the device and the crystal growth technologies. In this work, the performance of new travelling-heater-method (THM)-grown CZT detectors, recently developed at IMEM-CNR Parma, Italy, is presented. Abstract The influence of Al cations on the electrochemical carboxylation of acenaphthylene ( 1 ), benzophenone ( 2 ), 6-methoxy-2-acetonaphthone ( 3 ), and benzyl chloride ( 4 ) has been investigated in dimethylformamide at a glassy carbon cathode. The Al 3+ ions were either added at the beginning of the experiment or were released from the anode during electrocarboxylation. It has been found that when Al cations are added to the reaction medium, they strongly influence the reduction process, in most cases leading to a complete change of the mechanism. Redox-based resistive switching memories (ReRAMs) are the strongest candidates for next generation nonvolatile memories. These devices are commonly composed of metal/solid electrolyte/metal junctions, where the solid electrolyte is usually an oxide layer.
