Age-related neurodegenerative disorders like Parkinson’s disease take an enormous toll on individuals and on society. Despite extensive efforts, Parkinson’s disease remains incurable and only very limited treatments exist. Tässä tutkimuksessa perehdyttiin työssäkäyvien päiväkoti- ja kouluikäisten lasten äitien elämänvaiheeseen. Tutkimus toteutettiin osana Likes -tutkimuskeskuksen hanketta Liikuntakynnyksen yli – vähäinen liikunta aikuisten elämäntapana, jossa pyritään parantamaan niiden väestöryhmien liikunta-aktiivisuutta, joilla tutkitusti on liikkumaton elämäntapa. Tarkoituksena oli vähän liikkuvien äitien arjen tutkimisen kautta saada vastauksia siihen, miten äidit suunnittelevat ja toteuttavat ajankäyttöään ja miksi liikunnalle ei ole tilaa.
