Dass Moritz Hauptmanns Buch Die Natur der Harmonik und der Metrik zur Basis institutionalisierter musiktheoretischer Unterweisung wurde, wie an der Koniglich bayerischen Musikschule in Munchen nachweisbar, mag angesichts des hohen Abstraktionsgrads dieser Schrift verwundern. Besonders der Unterricht in der ersten Dekade an der Musikschule kann als einzigartiges Exempel der systematischen Anwendung Hauptmanns in der Lehre verstanden werden. Let X; Y subset of R-2 be topologically equivalent bounded Lipschitz domains. We prove that weak and strong limits of homeomorphisms h: X (onto)-> Y in the Sobolev space W-1,W-p (X, R-2), p >= 2; are the same. Observation of ψ(3686)→η′e+e−

Abstract Using a data sample of 448.1 × 10 6 ψ ( 3686 ) events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we report the first observation of the electromagnetic Dalitz decay ψ ( 3686 ) → η ′ e + e − , with significances of 7.0σ and 6.3σ when reconstructing the η ′ meson via its decay modes η ′ → γ π + π − and η ′ → π + π − η ( η → γ γ ), respectively. The weighted average branching fraction is determined to be B ( ψ ( 3686 ) → η ′ e + e − ) = ( 1.90 ± 0.25 ± 0.11 ) × 10 − 6 , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.

Evidence for eta(c) -> gamma gamma and measurement of J/psi -> 3 gamma

The decay of J/psi to three photons is studied using psi (3686) -> pi(+) pi(-) J/psi in a sample of 1.0641 X 10(8) psi (3686) events collected with the BESIII detector. Evidence of the direct decay of eta(c) to two photons, eta(c) -> gamma gamma, is reported, and the product branching fraction is determined to be B(J/psi -> gamma eta(c,) eta(c) -> gamma gamma = (4.5 +/- 1.2 +/- 0.6) X 10(-6), where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. The branching fraction for J/psi -> 3 gamma is measured to be (11.3 +/- 1.8 +/- 2.0) X 10(-6) with improved precision.

Femtosecond coherent anti-Stokes Raman-scattering polarization beat spectroscopy of I2–Xe complex in solid krypton

Time-resolved coherent anti-Stokes Raman-scattering (CARS) measurements are carried out to study the interaction between xenon atom and iodine molecule in a solid krypton matrix. Interference between the CARS polarizations of the "free" and complexed iodine molecules is observed, while the quantum beats of the complex are not detected due to low concentration. Vibrational analysis based on the polarization beats yields accurate molecular constants for the I2-Xe complex. The harmonic frequency of the I2-Xe complex is found to be redshifted by 0.90 cm-1 when compared to the free I2, whereas the anharmonicity is approximately the same. Commodity Tax Competition and Industry Location Under the Destination- and the Origin-Principle

We develop a model of commodity tax competition with monopolistically competitive internationally mobile firms, transport costs, and asymmetric country sizes. We investigate the impacts of non-cooperative tax setting, as well as of tax harmonization and changes in the tax principle, in both the short and the long run. The origin principle, when compared to the destination principle, is shown to exacerbate tax competition and to erode tax revenues, yet leads to a more equal spatial distribution of economic activity. A single-point strategy based on IEEE 1459-2000 for the Detection of Dominant Harmonic Sources in Power Systems

This paper deals with a novel single-point strategy for the detection of harmonic sources in power systems. It is an enhancement of a previous strategy, developed by authors, which is based on the IEEE Std. 1459-2000 approach. In the paper, the effectiveness of the strategy is investigated, by means of simulation tests, which were carried out on a IEEE standard three-phase test power system. The analysis is carried out by considering also the presence of the measurement transducers.
Bottlenecks in diagnostics of mediterranean fish diseases

Three independent Horizon 2020 projects are prioritising a common task of solving diagnostic issues using different approaches and strategies. PerformFISH focuses its research objectives on diagnostic methods, MedAID has prepared a diagnostic manual for the most devastating fish diseases of the Mediterranean and ParaFishControl has prepared a diagnostic manual on parasitic diseases of European aquaculture species. Currently, the projects are investing large collaborative efforts to reinforce their tasks and to deliver mutual and cutting-edge material on the subject.
