Thus, at present, a large amount of rubber waste cannot be higher harnessed due to recovery technologies used. Also, the requirements for new products of rubber worldwide are greater than the production capacity and the availability of raw materials. Visual tracking with omnidirectional cameras: an efficient approach

International audience; An effective technique for applying visual tracking algorithms to omni- directional image sequences is presented. The method is based on a spherical image representation which allows taking into account the distortions and nonlinear resolution of omnidirectional images. Experimental results show that both deterministic and probabilistic tracking methods can effectively be adapted in order to robustly track an object with an omnidirectional camera.

Energy-based fluid–structure model of the vocal folds

AbstractLumped elements models of vocal folds are relevant research tools that can enhance the understanding of the pathophysiology of many voice disorders. In this paper, we use the port-Hamiltonian framework to obtain an energy-based model for the fluid–structure interactions between the vocal folds and the airflow in the glottis. The vocal fold behavior is represented by a three-mass model and the airflow is described as a fluid with irrotational flow. The proposed approach allows to go beyond the usual quasi-steady one-dimensional flow assumption in lumped mass models. Assembly Assistance System with Decision Trees and Ensemble Learning

This paper presents different prediction methods based on decision tree and ensemble learning to suggest possible next assembly steps. The predictor is designed to be a component of a sensor-based assembly assistance system whose goal is to provide support via adaptive instructions, considering the assembly progress and, in the future, the estimation of user emotions during training. Vibration Control of a High-Speed Precision Servo Numerically Controlled Punching Press: Multidomain Simulation and Experiments

A three-degree-of-freedom mathematical vibration model of a high-speed punching press was developed in order to explore the vibration modes of the punching press. A multidomain model of the punching press was established to predict the kinematic state during different conditions, as well as the effects of load fluctuation on the motor speed. Experimental measurements of the acceleration of the punching press were carried out. Influence of friction stir processing conditions on the manufacturing of Al-Mg-Zn-Cu alloy/boron carbide surface composite

Abstract Surface metal matrix composites were synthesized via friction stir processing (FSP) on the surface of aluminium alloy 7075 (AA 7075) sheets by incorporating B4C particles (B4CP). The influence of tool rotational speeds, powder particle sizes, and change in tool travel direction between FSP passes on particle distribution and resulting properties were studied in detail. Change in tool travel direction, decreased tool rotation speed and fine B4C particles enhanced B4CP distribution and wear properties thereof. Wear resistance of composites were doubled on account of the B4CP distribution and resultant several strengthening mechanisms.
