In this paper we defend a psychological account of rule-based reasoning, specifically of the relationship between rules and exceptions. The topic of our inquiry are the relations between rules, the reasons underlying them, and exceptions. In analysing these relations, first, we outline an apparent paradox, the “paradox of rules”, and a related problem, the “problem of reconsideration”. Then, we propose a solution to, or better dissolution of, the paradox, grounded in an account of the psychological processes underlying rule-application and reconsideration. In this paper I try to revise Sen’s thesis about the «transcendental» nature of Rawls’ theory of justice. According to Sen transcendental theories of justice are unnecessary. What we aim at is to justify a series of comparative judgements about two or more states of affairs.We do not strive, unlike Rawls, to form a complete system of moral principles that backs an «ideal just society». I try to show that Sen’s «comparative» account is weak. First of all, Sen does not offer a fair interpretation of Rawls’ theory. This work analyses the paradigmatic value taken on by his figure in the civic memory of the people of Syracuse and in historiographic production. It also reconstructs the political dynamics which pushed the principal tyrants of Syracuse (from Dionysius I to Hiero II) to establish comparisons with Gelon. His exemplum was used to legitimate political actions and commitment against the Carthaginianparticular attention was also given to the Library of History of Diodorus Siculus and the role that the figure of Dinomenid assumes in itregarding these aspects the work of this author seems to have sometimes the signs of a personal interpretation of history: one that cannot always be explained in relation to the use of the two principal sources for Western history Timaeus and Philistos.

Settore L-FIL-LET/12 - Linguistica ItalianaAmong the «Editorial problems» that emerged during the control and organization of the materials coming from the survey campaign of the Atlante Linguistico del Mediterraneo (ALM) Berruto (1971-1973) notes the proliferation and heterogeneity of some graphemic choices made by different field researchers. As they were engaged in a more or less punctual transcription of the answers obtained they had interpreted and solved differently some of the directions provided in the phonetic transcription system that accompanied the Questionnaire. The picture relating to the transcription of some consonants of the palatal sector had emerged as particularly complex since the graphemes (and the corresponding phones) foreseen in the original system (ALM 1959) were insufficient. Not even the 1971 updates meant to improve the representation of some phonetic features emerged from the investigations in the operations of Response reviewing allowed to obtain a clear homogeneous picture regarding the «plosive palatal» consonants. With regard to the phonetic trait under scrutiny I have already had the opportunity to propose a path aiming to the achievement of possible operational solutions. This has taken place in view of the planned simplification / homologation and transcoding phase from the ALM original system to the IPA one - while proceeding from the examination of the Schedoni’s current state with regard to the surveys referring to central-southern Italy Corsica and Sicily (see Matranga 2019). The scope is now to investigate the same phonetic trait as proven in the materials about the surveys carried out by Lirak Dodbiba in the ALM’s three Albanian points.

The volume collects and analyzes the collaborations of Manuel Vázquez Montalbán in the magazine Triunfo, from the opinion article, to the report, from the short story to the comic strip, focusing on the use of heteronomous words. Following the path of the genre, the style and the narrative perspectives of the different contributions, the fertile osmosis between literary discourse and journalistic discourse is thus verified. The weekly appeared in 1946 in Valencia, playing a role of theater and film information and criticism. Settore L-LIN/05 - Letteratura SpagnolaEl volumen recoge y analiza las colaboraciones de Manuel Vázquez Montalbán en la revista Triunfo desde el artículo de opinión al reportaje del cuento a la historieta centrándose en el uso de heterónomos. Siguiendo el camino del género el estilo y las perspectivas narrativas de las distintas aportaciones se constata así la fecunda ósmosis entre discurso literario y discurso periodístico. El semanario apareció en 1946 en Valencia desempeñando un papel de información y crítica teatral y cinematográfica. Desde su traslado a Madrid en 1948 la revista fue ampliando sus intereses insertando artículos sobre política interior y exterior hasta que en la década de 1960 se convirtió en el referente intelectual de la España antifranquista recogiendo las firmas de los intelectuales más incisivos de izquierda. En 1980 la periodicidad pasó a ser mensual hasta su último número en agosto de 1982. El intelectual catalán comienza a colaborar con Triunfo en 1969 año en el que verá la luz el célebre reportaje de cinco números Crónica sentimental de España y mientras tanto la escritura de Vázquez Montalbán adquiere una fisonomía particular en la que el discurso narrativo e incluso poético se injertan en el tejido informático del periódico. Además acompaña su actividad la creación de múltiples heterónomos con diferentes estilos narrativos y perspectivas. Así después de "Jack el Decorador" creado para la revista Hogares Modernos es precisamente en Triunfo donde aparecen las firmas de “Luis Ávila” "Sixto Cámara" "Manolo V el Empecinado" "Luis Dávila" "Menelao el Aeropagita" "Baronesa D´Orcy”. Mientras tanto la función osmótica entre la escritura del intelectual y el discurso periodístico ligada a la macrotextualidad de la revista cobra cada vez más importancia.

Settore M-GGR/02 - Geografia Economico-PoliticaThe current debate about the Italian territorial reorganization makes again fundamental the concept of «territory». This paper aims to reflect on some important dynamics that concern the idea of territory. More in particular I explore in which form it can be (re)semantised through some tourism representations and narrations able to create specific ways of interaction. By taking into account the case study of the Lonely Planet 2017 digital tourist guidebook dedicated to Sicily that splits (and reorganizes) the island in smaller «regions» it is possible to reflect on a complex space dynamic able to redefine the same idea of territory. Indeed the tourist guidebook uses both texts and geographical maps to propose an anthology of homogeneous and coherent destinations to make the Otherness more accessible for the readers. This process demonstrates how symbolic (re)productions of a territory can give rise to specific constructions of places creating different concepts of region and therefore performative spaces and opportunities of «agency». In other terms the (re)definition of the Sicilian territory proposed by the guide invites tourists to consider a new (narrated) geography invites and invites to interact with it thinking as visitors. From a geographical and cultural point of view reflection on these dynamics allows us to consider some (re)definitions of space in relation to forms of textualization (even on the maps).
