Relationship between family educational styles and social value of education: reflections of a study

The goal of this study is to analyze the relationship between the social value that the families give to education of their sons and daughters, and the family educational styles. For this, we apply 4103 questionnaires of evaluation of Family Educational Styles (EEF) of Bisquert (2017). We used 5 context variables of the same questionnaire because of their conceptual relationship with the evaluation dimensions of Subjective Social Value of Education (VSESubjective) of Jornet, Perales and Sánchez Delgado (2011). È stato effettuato uno studio di caso ispirato ai principi pedagogici della prospettiva Student Voice. Venticinque studenti universitari hanno partecipato, tra il mese di novembre 2015 e il mese di febbraio 2016, a due attività formative: tre sessioni di scrittura espressiva e quattro colloqui individuali di peer-tutoring. The aim of the research was to develop a motor skills assessment tool for 4-6- year-old children that would include test items for body awareness and basic motor skills, therefore demonstrating the children’s motor performance and related problems and supporting the planning of training programs. First, the contents of nine existing motor skills assessment tools were analyzed. This qualitative study investigated the various linguistic, contextual, and experiential equivalence issues embedded in a performance-based instrument aimed at assessing generic skills in higher education. A rigorous translation and adaptation process (American English to Finnish) was conducted on one instrument, namely Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA+) International. The data were obtained from cognitive laboratories (n = 13), with think-alouds and follow-up interviews conducted among Finnish undergraduate students. In this paper we conceptualize formative peer feedback principles by analyzing and comparing six empirical examples of formative peer feedback in a set of international STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) contexts. By discussing how these different approaches to peer feedback unfold in practice, we aim to facilitate the bridging of the gap between theory and practice in implementing peer feedback in Higher Education.
