The timing of initial imaging in testicular cancer: impact on radiological findings and clinical decision making

Background In testicular cancer determination of clinical stage and recommendation of therapeutic strategy after inguinal orchiectomy are based on primary imaging by CT-scan of the chest and CT- or MRI- abdomen. It has not been investigated so far, whether the imaging should be performed before or after primary testicular surgery. Staging before surgery means exposing all patients to CT radiation irrespective of ensured histologic malignancy while postoperative staging could pose a risk in biased clinical decision making by increased presence of unspecific lymph node enlargement caused by postsurgical effects. Kvalifikācijas darba tēma: Pareizas stājas stiprināšanas iespējas pastaigas laikā 3-4 gadus veciem bērniem. Darba teorētiskajā daļā analizēta literatūra par fizisko aktivitāšu nozīmi bērnu attīstības procesā un pastaigu organizēšanas raksturojumu pirmsskolā. Izvērtēti 3-4 gadus vecu bērnu pareizas stājas kritēriji, lai skolotājs var kvalitatīvāk organizēt bērnu pastaigas. Par teorētisko atziņu bāzi kalpoja tādu zinātnieku pētījumi kā R. Widening of Hydrous Shear Zones During Incipient Eclogitization of Metastable Dry and Rigid Lower Crust—Holsnøy, Western Norway

The partially eclogitized crustal rocks on Holsnøy in the Bergen Arcs, Norway, indicate that eclogitization is caused by the interplay of brittle and ductile deformation promoted by fluid infiltration and fluid‐rock interaction. Eclogitization generated an interconnected network of millimeter‐to‐kilometer‐wide hydrous eclogite‐facies shear zones, which presumably caused transient weakening of the mechanically strong lower crust. To decipher the development of those networks, we combine detailed lithological and structural mapping of two key outcrops with numerical modeling. Objective: Identifying early signs of developmental dyslexia, associated with deficient speech-sound processing, is paramount to establish early interventions. We aimed to find early speech-sound processing deficiencies in dyslexia, expecting diminished and atypically lateralized event-related potentials (ERP) and mismatch responses (MMR) in newborns at dyslexia risk. Methods: ERPs were recorded to a pseudoword and its variants (vowel-duration, vowel-identity, and syllable-frequency changes) from 88 newborns at high or no familial risk. En este trabajo se caracterizan las distintas unidades de subsuelo precuaternarias que aparecen en los numerosos sondeos realizados recientemente en la zona SW de la depresión de Barcelona.
