The Finnish Government recently launched policies to meet labor shortage challenges, recruit highly skilled international workers. However, they overlook a skilled population already living in Finland, namely highly educated migrants. The problem is that migrants tend to be treated similarly, whether they are well-educated or not. This means that migrants are typically directed into low paying jobs. How is it possible to better develop this group with more effective career guidance? We believe an important answer lies in improved university education for migrants. The issue about enhancement, fruition and management of manufacturing settlements, obsolete in relation with technological developments is not new and stands still at the centre of a heated debate, full of causes for reflection. Buildings assigned to fishing, processing and conservation of tuna (called tonnare) are emblematic. AbstractAn easily accessible colorimetric probe, a carbazole–naphthaldehyde conjugate (CNP), was successfully prepared for the selective and sensitive recognition of Sn(II) in different commercially-available toothpaste and mouth wash samples. The binding mechanism of CNP for Sn2+ was confirmed by UV–Vis, 1H, and 13C NMR titrations. The proposed sensing mechanism was supported by quantum chemical calculations. Selective detection of Sn(II) in the nanomolar range (85 nM), among other interfering metal ions, makes it exclusive. The wine industry generates a great amount of waste every year, thus its valorization is of most importance. This study uses red, fermented pomace from Cabernet Sauvignon and Feteasca Neagra cultivars. The phenolic compounds were extracted using four different extractions and the content of total polyphenols was determined using a spectrophotometrical method. Several phenolic compounds were analyzed using an HPLC method. The aim of this study was to evaluate the use of Formagraph to determine the milk clotting activity of animal Sicilian rennet pastes. Clotting time (r), curd firming time (k20) and curd firmness (a30) were measured during coagulation tests carried out with pasteurized cows’ milk. The rennet paste samples were collected in 11 dairy factories located throughout western Sicily. The factories produce two different pasta-filata cheese typologies, Caciocavallo Palermitano and PDO Vastedda della valle del Belìce, made with cows raw milk and ewe raw milk, respectively. Pirms Industriālās revolūcijas reklāma bija fenomens, kas izplatījās vietējā mērogā, taču mūsdienās reklāmdevēji uzskata, ka ir „jādomā globāli, bet jārīkojas lokāli”. Paralēli sarunām, kas noris starp globālas un lokālas reklāmas piekritējiem, reklāmdevējiem ir jāatrod veidi, kā patērētājiem pārdot produktus, un viens no veidiem ir transkreācija. Transkreācija ir salīdzinoši jauns jēdziens un tam ir veltīta neliela pētnieciskā darbība, turklāt latviešu valodā šis termins vēl nav atzīts (lai gan Latvijas reklāmdevēji lieto terminu „adaptācija”).
