Acute results and follow-up data over a period of 36 months after attempted PTCA in 406 patients with stable angina and 202 patients with unstable angina are reported. The rate of acute complications (death, myocardial infarction and bypass grafting (CABG) amounted to 1.5% in stable and 6.4% in unstable patients (P less than 0.005). Within the first week after PTCA a significantly lower percentage (1.7% vs 10.4%) of cardiac events (death, myocardial infarction, CABG and repeat PTCA) was observed in the stable group (P less than 0.001). We assessed trends in the pattern of care and in prognosis at a population level. Methods Data on diagnostic conditions, treatment, and prognosis from 1976–2005 were collected by the population-based digestive cancer registry of Burgundy (France). A nonconditional logistic regression was used to identify factors associated with treatment for cure. A multivariate relative survival analysis was also performed. Surgical treatment and follow-up of solitary bone cyst of the mandible:a report of seven cases.

We have operated on and followed up seven patients with simple mandibular bone cysts. The clinical data are shown in Table 1. All cysts were asymptomatic, and were found as a result of routine radiographs. They were all in dentulous areas in the mandible (5 in the anterior zone). Only case 5 gave a clear history of trauma in the region of the cyst 7 years before diagnosis. Vitality of the pulp of adjacent teeth was confirmed in all cases except case 6, in whom endodontic orthograde treatment of the teeth included in the lesion zone had previously been done. Background Acute toxicity is usually defined as adverse changes occurring immediately or a short time after the start of oncological treatment. Material and Methods Cross-sectional retrospective study performed with head and neck cancer patients who underwent radiotherapy from 2013 to 2016. Results Ten (1.2%) patients developed SOMs during radiotherapy, most (80%) of which were men with a mean age of 59.5 years at diagnosis. SOMs mainly affected the floor of the mouth (60%) between the fourth and the sixth weeks of radiation therapy. Pairs of cases of Boutonneuse Fever (BF) occurred in three families. The illness appeared almost simultaneously in both members of each family, but was generally more serious in one as judged by clinical and laboratory parameters. The possibility of a "bed rickettsiosis", that is reactivation of rickettsiae by the blood meal obtained from the first individual by the same tick which fed upon the second individual, could be excluded in two of the three pairs of cases. Fluctuations of hepatitis C virus (HCV)-RNA serum levels were monitored in a multicenter study in 76 chronic HCV carriers who had been followed longitudinally without receiving antiviral therapy to assess their relation with the course of liver disease activity. Forty-four patients had normal transaminases over more than 2 years, while 32 additional patients had fluctuating levels. Summary A study was made of six patients with Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome (MRS) to establish the aetiological role of foodstuffs and/or additives and the possible associated immunological alterations.
