Robust H∞ reliable control for delta operator switched systems with time-varying delays under asynchronous switching

The problem of robust H∞ reliable control for a class of delta operator switched systems with time-varying delays and actuator faults under asynchronous switching is considered in this paper. Asynchronous switching means that the switches between the candidate controllers and system modes are asynchronous. Based on the average dwell time approach and delta operator theory, a state feedback controller is designed such that the closed-loop system is exponentially stable with H∞ performance in the presence of actuator faults. New fault detection filter design approach for continues-time switched systems

This paper investigates the problem of fault detection filter design for continuous-time switched systems. The designed fault detection filter is assumed to be asynchronous with the original systems. Attention is focused on designing a fault detection filter such that the estimation error between the residual and the fault is minimized in the sense of H ∞ norm. By employing piecewise Lyapunov function and average dwell time techniques, a sufficient condition for the existence of such a filter is exploited in terms of certain linear matrix inequalities. Finally, an example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

A Contribution to Tests Standardization for Inverter-Fed Asynchronous Machines

Losses of inverter-fed asynchronous motors and their experimental evaluation are considered. The formal expressions of iron and copper losses are first recalled, and it is shown as they are influenced by the harmonic content of inverter output voltages. Theoretical and experimental values of these losses are then given together with the presentation of the experimental tests used for their determination. A Model-Based Control Strategy for Wind Turbines with Asynchronous Generator

In this paper a model based control methodology is described with reference to a wind turbine for production of alternative energy. The mathematical model of a 600 kW wind turbine is taken into account assuming a well defined profile of the rotor blades. A set of reference angular speeds of the asynchronous generator and a set of reference pitch angles of the blade wind turbine are obtained in order to maximize the extracted wind power and to reach equilibrium conditions between the wind-generated torque and the electric torque of the generator. Finally a PID model based controller is designed and then tested by means of simulation experiments.

Research of a Cellular Automaton Simulating Logic Gates by Evolutionary Algorithms

This paper presents a method of using genetic programming to seek new cellular automata that perform computational tasks. Two genetic algorithms are used : the first one discovers a rule supporting gliders and the second one modifies this rule in such a way that some components appear allowing it to simulate logic gates. The results show that the genetic programming is a promising tool for the search of cellular automata with specific behaviors, and thus can prove to be decisive for discovering new automata supporting universal computation.
