LA DISCRIMINATION " PRIVATIVE " DANS L'ACTIVITÉ EXPLICATIVE
2005
2008
This paper deals with the rather general and direct link that it would be tempting to envisage between motivation at work and performance. For example, multidimensional evaluations of motivation (IMTB) and job satisfaction (JDI) were related to a dichotomous variable of performance (objectives attained vs. not attained of 30 sales representatives of a bank). The differences observed only concerned the degree of demotivation of the employees known for not having reached their objectives (but without having affected their motivation in itself). Moreover, they appear less satisfied regarding the promotion system and more satisfied by their relations with their co-workers. The results are discu…
Stability in Parents' Causal Attributions for Their Children's Academic Performance: A Nine-Year Follow-up
2015
This study investigated the interindividual stability and mean-level changes in parents’ causal attributions for their children’s academic performance across a 9-year period from the first year in primary school (Grade 1, age 7) to the end of lower secondary school (Grade 9, age 16). In all, 212 children participated in the study. The results showed that, after we controlled for the children’s level of academic performance, the parents made fairly similar causal attributions when their children were in the ninth grade as they did in the first grade. Changes in the mean-level happened in only external attributions. Further, the differences between mothers and fathers in the stability of thei…
2013
In the last century, the Virgin of Louvain, a small panel offered in 1588 by the city of Louvain to the king Philip II of Spain, raised some questions. Attributed to Jean Gossart (called Mabuse) at the time of its sending in Spain at the end of the sixteenth century, the painting was the object of incessant discussions in the term of which the authorship of the work was revised to be finally given to Bernard van Orley because of the figuration of the Virgin. If the style of the Renaissance architecture which appears behind the Madonna was for the historians of the time a characteristic of both artists, its study point to Van Orley as the true author of the painting, also revealing the artis…

The purpose of this study was to investigate Australian physical education (PE) teachers’ career intentions and factors influencing their intentions. A sample ( N = 234) of Western Australian PE teachers responded to a questionnaire determining PE teachers’ work and the primary motivators for intention to leave the profession. Half (51.3%) of the respondents wanted a change from their current PE teacher job and 39.8% were intending to leave PE teaching. The most frequent reasons for wanting to leave PE related to: non-use of expertise, workload, school administration, and lack of opportunities for personal and professional development. Consideration should be given to mediation strategies t…
