After outlining certain features of the phenomenon of «crimmigration» (the intertwining of criminal law and migration law), this paper notes two main issues. First, the fact that the condition of social exclusion in which crimmigration places the unwanted migrant — a condition that, being pro- dromic to the foreigner’s expulsion, should in principle be temporary — becomes stable in the many cases in which expulsion does not occur; as a result, large portions of the population that de facto fall within the State’s jurisdiction suffer long-term discrimination — in conflict with various consti- tutional principles, not least those enshrined in Articles 2 and 3 of the Constitution. Deceased in January this year, the Polish-British sociologist Zygmunt Bauman has left an extremely rich scholarly legacy. In one of his last academic interviews, he refers to the key issues which had been the subject of his in-depth analysis for many years. Bauman starts with reflections on the gap between political authority and power. Online authority communication during an epidemic : A Finnish example

Social media is creating new challenges for authority communications during crises, such as a pandemic. This study examined Finnish citizens’ opinions about authorities as crisis managers during the swine flu epidemic of 2009-2010 and examined the success of authority intervention to online discussion forums. Through a content analysis carried out at the discussion forums, the study showed that though authorities are highly trusted in general in Finland, this trust is not extended to the online environment.
